kirby of fredericksburg False Advertising of Kirby Vaccum Cleaners Fredericksburg, Virginia

While working on my garden in my front yard, I was approached by a young lady, telling me that she was oppening a carpet cleaning company in Manassas. I told her I was looking for someone to clean my carpet that was left stained by the last company that shampooed it.

She asked me to show her the room, and proceeded to say that, the product she uses will take care of all the stains and I'd be very happy with the results. I asked her how much she would charge, at which she replied "Nothing we'll do it for free". 

She then told a co-worker to get started with me while she was going to meet another client, and would be back to help him.

The guy comes in behind me, I opened the back door to let my 2 cats out into the backyard. When I came back in, he had set up a kirby display. I asked him what is this all about, that I was under the impression that they were here to clean my carpet.

He continued to talk and insisted on showing me how well this new and improved Kirby vaccumed and shampood the carpet.

 I already owned a Kirby that hardly ever used because it's so heavy and hard to maneuver, but the new one seemed to be easier to handle, so I fell into the trap and agreed to trade my old one for the new one and pay a lot more on top of that.

When it came to paying for the balance, I told the salesman to bill me each month and I would send in the payment. I got the first bill which I paid. I went about my business and honestly forgot about the whole thing. I never received another bill, or a phone call ( they had all my recent information). 

On March 19th at 10:30 PM when I was already in bed I heard my door bell ring. I looked out the window and saw headlights shinning on my garage door. Not wanting to disturb the neighbors (I live in a townhouse)I went to the door, opened it a crack and asked the guy what the heck was he doing coming to my house at that time of night. He told me he was with Kirby and was collecting payment. I told him to leave and come back the next day.

When he came back, I asked again what the heck was he doing coming to my house like that, at which point he said that he was a repo rep. even though his business card says (Terry Mcdonald)Dealer.

Needless to say I was shocked beyond belief that he was coming to repossess my vacuum cleaner. I felt like I was on a bad tv show. Anyway, I'm filing charges against Al aka Albert the owner of Kirby of Fredericksburg for harrassement and misrepresentation of a product.

Kirby has been around for a long time and should be aware of who's representing them.
