Beware of ALL Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM vehicles as what you see is not what you get.  We purchased the vehicle from Lees Summit Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, but this could happen to you anywhere.  When we looked over the new Jeep, we were very impressed.  Very nice.  Great warranty.  Very nice features.  On the lot, the window sticker was not in the window, but was in the back seat, so could not be easily seen.  Regardless of that, when looking at the features of the vehicle, we saw on the factory installed radio of a brand new jeep that there were voice-control and hands-free symbols clearly displayed on the many buttons surrounding the radio.

When anyone looks at this, the automatic assumption is that the vehicle has hands free installed.  In all other manufacturers vehicles, the symbols will not be present if the feature is not available.  Therefore, it is an automatic assumption of a new buyer if the symbols representing features are present.  That is, anyone seeing a four-wheel drive shifter would automatically assume the vehicle has four-wheel drive..  Likewise, anyone seeing the symbols for cruise control will automatically assume the vehicle has cruise-control.  In this case, the symbols for voice-commands and phone are plainly and clearly visible on the factory installed radio.

After taking posession of the vehicle, we spent an hour trying to figure out how to pair our phone with the vehicle.  It didn't work.  We then looked up the owner's manual, and it explained the instructions for how to pair the phone.  In those instructions, it states to push the voice-control button.  It then explains how to proceed with pairing your phone.  Ours didn't allow it.  It simply stated that "Uconnect wasn't available".  Upon further investigation, another half-hour, we discovered this means that though the symbols are present, it doesn't mean the feature is installed.

After even more research, it turns out that to get the hand-free feature that one is deceptively lead to believe exists, you need to shell out another $600 for a wiring harness and dealer installation.  See, if you don't pay for the installation, you very, very likely void any warranty you have.

At this point, you're either now having to return the vehicle, or live with the fact that these symbols are just simple decorations, with no real function.  It also leads one to wonder what else the vehicle appears to have that it actually doesn't.

So, buyer beware.  If you are thinknig of a Chrysler Dodge Jeep or RAM, DO NOT automatically assume anything you see as an apparent feature on the vehicle will actually be useful or installed.

I'm writing this because I have grown sick and tired of all the deception and B/S car dealerships vomit upon the unsuspecting public.  It's not now just the dealership, it is now the manufacturer.
