I have moved to Dallas, Texas to be with my husband. I brought 2 suitcases with me, and when I got here- I was proposed to. My husband paid Low Country Van Lines exactly $2,533.00 to go to my apartment, pack up ALL of my belongings, I gave them a list of everything in the apartment. Well, we never heard from them....So I called this morning and spoke to a woman named Yolanda. She looked up my name and said, "Oh! We were there yesterday and everything was packed up and we are on the way to Dallas!". Then a guy gets on the same line and interrupts her and says, "no, you never paid us so we never went by to move her apartment." WHAT BULL SH*T. Excuse my language, but I am literally a 24 hour drive away from Florida and my husband and I cannot afford plane tickets to Florida, plus cross state movers.
My husband looked up the charges on his card, well what do you know......THEY HAD TAKEN OUT ALL OF THE $2, 533.00 THAT WAS THE TOTAL COSTS OF THE MOVE. This guy named, "Mike" then said they did pack up my apartment, then went back on his word again and said they didn't. They have taken all of our $2,533.00 and are denying it. However, we have it in writing from the computer that they received the money. I have never been so angry and stressed out in my life. I had to call my apartments to go check on my apartment, and all the furniture was there and my house keys are missing. We were screwed over almost $3,000 by this company. We have a GREAT attorney that is suing Low Country Van Lines now. So I am trying to help all of you who read this, DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THAT LOW COUNTRY VAN LINES TELLS YOU. We were completely scammed and I cannot wait to receive the justice we deserve after we take their FRAUD A**ES to court!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the real Story

The next day, the billing department came down and said that the card was declined. I tried calling her back to get the another card, since her move day was the following day. She never answered or returned my calls. (i am attaching documents from our merchant account stating that the card was declined.)
Since I had a truck in the area, I sent it to her residence to see if someone was there waiting on our moving company. There was nobody there. I instructed the foreman to leave there and thought that someone had just played a bad joke on our company.
The next day, I receive a call from Katie, telling me that we had charged her card for $2533.00 and that all her stuff was missing from the residence(apparently, whoever took it, returned it, since that is what she states above on this complaint.) I told her that we never moved her belongings and that her card was declined the day she gave it to me to reserve. I also stated, that if she just called her bank and disputed it and found out who charged the card, that they would refund her and find out who did it so that she could press criminal charges. She did not like that suggestion.
Katie, I do not know what your ulterior motives were with this, if you just set out to make a family owned business look bad or something else in your personal life happened, but it is not nice to do this, and you will be hearing from a real lawyer, for charges of Slander.
I have attached documents for everyone to review with this, and I wish you the best of luck with your new Husband.
