Dear McDonald’s   Corporation,

 My name is Keith Bartholomew,   today I was with a female companion named Kendra Patton at your McDonald’s   located on 1310 Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90021., Store #7037. We   purchased a Big Mac Meal and a Six-piece chicken Nugget meal with my credit   card without incident.  Once our meal   was prepared I took the tray of food with two cups that were given for the   meal (see copy of receipt) and sat them at our table.  I asked Kendra what kind of soda did she   want and she stated she wanted to mix hers up and so I told her she could get   me a coke also and I handed her both cups that we paid for and she went to   fill them up. When she came back to the table she said that the security   guard told her that the patrons of the establishment had told him that she   got the cups out of the trash and that she needed to show him her receipt he   (named Rivera) also stated after I verbally confronted him about it he stated   that the manager had told him this.  I   asked to speak to the manager and he stated to me that he did not tell   Security Guard Rivera that but Rivera insisted that he did.  Rivera then told me that he wanted to see   my receipt and that he was calling the police if we did not leave. I told him   I wanted an apology for stating that she did not pay for her food but worse   that she got the cups out of the trash without any evidence whatsoever that   she did this.  He then told me that he   was going to call the police if I didn’t show my receipt.  I told him that I was not showing him   anything and he was more than welcome to call the police because we not only   paid for the meal it was sitting right there on the table untouched.  I asked for an apology and the manager   apologized, however, the security guard did not, and was very unsympathetic   even though he was wrong and was lying because one of the stories he   presented to Ms. Patton was evidently a lie.    I am still incensed about this as I am an African-American and I used   to work at McDonald’s throughout my younger years and I never have ever   witnessed such a scene.  I love   McDonald’s but I won’t tolerate what happened today and I will be filing a   complaint regarding this with the BBB and any other channels to deal with   this matter.  I have never been treated   with such contempt by any business establishment when I paid just like all   the other customers I would never had gone this far if that young man had   just apologized to Ms. Patton and he would not and I told him that I will   pursue this and I intend to keep that promise since no apology is forthcoming   I will exhaust every avenue available.    I request an investigation into this matter the entire restaurant   witnessed this as well as everyone at the cash registers who work there he   stated more to her however, I only know what she told me I don’t normally get   upset but this is unbearable that she went through something like this just   to eat at McDonald’s.   I will hold you accountable for this win or   lose if something is not done about Mr. Rivera and Manager Jorge We are not   trash and will not be treated like it. We were the only blacks in that   restaurant and to be treated like that makes me feel less than human and I’m   sure Ms. Patton who is mainly the subject here felt much worse this is   inexcusable and is not what I know your company to be about.  Just like Mr. Rivera told me that he won’t   lose his job perhaps he won’t but maybe after this is over he’ll know to   treat people not like himself with dignity and respect.  I also request to know the name of the   security company that Mr. Rivera works for and do they support such behavior   from their security he thought this was a joke.  She and I are really hurt behind this.

Look im not a whiner this was brought to me he should have respectfully asked for the receipt further he  lied.twice about.why he saaid that to her you were.not there and im not easily insulted but when she came to me and told me what he said it made me very angry and the other customers who heard and saw this stated.the same it was insulting to me and her there is a way to.respectfully talk to people.and ask.for.their receipt and thats not it so If some of the responders believe im whining so be it but I wont buy nothing at mcdonalds again in life

 i love how you people always seem to refuse the simple solution and make a big deal. Just show the reciept and sit down. And what does your color have to do with this. You seem to be implying racism but I cant find any. By the way "you people" is referring to whiny people.

First the woman he stated this to is 53 she is in a restaurant being accused of digging in the trash for not one but two medium cups as if one. Was not enough and secondly noone told him that she did that it was a lie and whenconfronted he told another lie that the manger told him that she did that he deigrated my friend all he had to ask her from the gate was for her receipt I did not show him the receipt due to his callous behavoir to kendra

I was insulted so yes I want an apology from this person thats the least I can get I askwed the man twice to apologize and h3 would not so I took these steps I dont treat anyone like ths and nor will anyone to treat me any different than any one else no one's was accused of digging in the trash and then drinking from they cup but of  course only the black people would do t hat right

I might also add this 5he first I did was show him where we were sitting where the tray was how did we get the food if we did not pay for it secondly I asked to apologize to her thats when he asked me for my receipt and this directly in front of the counter area he only asked me for   the receipt because I asked him to apologize not because he believed she or I did not pay Nd why wouldnt he just simply apologize if he truly made a mistake because this mcdonalds only caters to those that are like themselves thats how this came up in the first place

If you can't get beyond something as minor as this, then prepare yourself for a lifetime of anguish.

You compounded the problem by refusing to produce the receipt. The manager represents the store so his apology was more than enough.
