If you are looking for a mover who can lie ,  mislead, harass, and provide unethical and unprofessional services , be subject to daylight robbery , raise your stress levels  and you want a nightmare to remember all your life  - Mc Movers has it all!!  

 

We were booked by Nate Black  for a west coast to east coast move and he was very courteous and did an amazing job of convincing us that McMovers was the best company for us to move with as it promised to fulfill our time bound requirements. He gave us a quote of $ 4495 with expedited "VIP" shipping .  He also told us that we will have " our truck: and it will not make any stops after picking our stuff!!!!Our schedule date of pick up was  July 22nd 2015. 

 

On July  20th  , we get a call from "our" driver Erin that since he was in the area he would like to pick up our stuff that day itself. Of course we were not ready as the contract was for 22nd July. When I asked him to come on  July 22nd, he seemed very upset and went on to complain about how difficult it is for him to stay for 2 days without a job!!! Making sure he had a job everyday was not part of my contract! Anyhow he agreed to come on 22nd morning between 8 am - 11am . 

 

On Dday , there was no news of Mr. Eric till 12 pm nor did he try to get in touch to let us know he was way behind schedule. He finally showed up at 4pm with just one mover - he came up with a lame story of two other guys being sent to a last minute job . (Surprisingly my friend who was moved by this company   had the same situation and the driver told them the same story. )  His first reaction upon entering our place was " Looks like another day in paradise ".  Their attitude was very unpleasant and made it very awkward for us . They did not seem to be prepared for the job - he was cursing every 10 minutes and made us feel like we were making him go through hell. When we asked him if he had wardrobe boxes , his reaction was " Be thankful, I am at least here" . They were moving very slow and my husband and I had to do a lot of the labor for which we paid the company.  The whole job ended around 430 am - took more than 12 hours. We had to stay up all night along with our 5 year old. 

 

We still dont understand why our final price went up to $5873 from $4495 - None of the  study room furniture that was in the original quote was taken  - we had two  10 ft bookshelves, one study table and Another CD shelf in the original quote - all items which was left behind. He did not take any of my soaps, shampoos , laundry detergent and many other kitchen items like ketchup , jams etc. 

There was no communication or update till about 12 days . The "guaranteed delivery" date was August  4th and when I called to follow up on the previous day , no body had a clue about where my stuff was but they did not hesitate from saying things like - "Its on its way and will reach tomorrow " , "We just left a message for the driver and he will call you back as soon as he pulls over " . We were so relived to hear that! When he did not show up the next day, they carried on with lies they told me the previous day. Mitch , Nate , Levine , Xavier should get awards for best liars of the universe .They can lie with such conviction that you will start doubting yourself . Their responses were mostly evasive and out of my frustration , I demanded to be connected with the owner of the company . Each person came up with different names as "owner " of the company -  Sam, Sasha and Liron were the names I got. None of them were and it turned out they were the contractors of the trucks the company uses and Sasha told me that day that my stuff was still in the west coast and will not be shipped until he has a full truck...atleast one person had to courage to come up with the truth.  At that point we felt we have been dealt a very unfair deal and were left in the lurch. We were paying for hotel  and  rent - it was difficult to live in a empty  house with a kid. The sales guys stopped communicating and Nate refused to talk to me again. They pretty much said " you got your answer from dispatch so stop calling us"  

 

So all we could do was wait. On August 16th  we get a call from Rafiq that he will arrive within 3  hours and he was 40 miles away. . We  rushed  to get the final payments ready and waited for him .  We also confirmed to him that our street can take an 18 wheeler after checking with a couple of neighbors. When he did not show up for after 4 hours , we called and he said "Oh ! My truck broke "! How Unprofessional - did not even bother to inform us he would not be coming that day. He called after 4 days and said he was 40 mins away and will be at your place by 8 pm . We have a kid and that schedule does not work for us - we worked with dispatch and they got back saying he will come at 8 am next day . Well for the first time , they worked for us! 

At 745 pm , Rafiq calls to say he wants to come and drop off half my stuff that night and the other half next morning. I have never heard anything like  that - when I refused he started screaming at me that how I dont understand and that I am not paying for his truck . The next morning he showed up in a Uhaul and said the previous  night he came with the 18 wheeler and he could not fit it on our street - did he forget his own story that "his truck broke" ??!! He accused me of lying to him about the 18 wheeler being able to fit on our street !! He charged me additional 200 dollars for the Uhaul - which was totally ridiculous . He refused to unload and threatened to leave if we did not pay . I asked him to wait so I could speak to someone in the company and the driver said He would charge me for waiting while I was on the phone !! This in my opinion was equivalent to day light robbery . 

We got our stuff  - 2 boxes were open when they unloaded, the leg of my chest of drawer broken and one box was missing and tons of glasses and platters were crushed to a million pieces.  When we asked him about the missing box - his reaction was " you will find it somewhere here and walked off.  

It  felt that this company hires anybody with a truck and a valid drivers licence to somehow do the job. We have moved several times cross country with professional companies and we even had the option of going with a very well rated company and would have cost us less. The only reason we went with Mc Movers was because Nate Black convinced us that we would get our stuff in guaranteed 10 days from the date they pick up . Instead we got our stuff a month later .  This move cost us almost 10000 dollars if we we add the cost of hotel stay. This  I think this was the worst decision we have ever taken and I urge everyone to do your research before you go with a moving company and save yourselves from MCMOVERS !!!
