    This operation is very unprofessional , dishonest and will cheat you badly.

    I sent in my  USB hard drive for repair after my mac partition failed to mount. My computer still detected it but could not mount it. It did detect other partitions on the drive such as my windows partition and could mount that . I tried this with various computers and  had the same problem and results . I did not want to handle the process myself as the data was extremely important.  I thought going to a professional source would be the best option.

           I thought Nevada Data Recovery services would be the best option since  it was located in Las Vegas, my current residence. They also offered a free diagnostic to diagnose the problem.  I hand dropped it off to there offices.  After not hearing back from in  72 hours (they said it would take 48hours) I called them to pick it up. They told me my drive was in Phoenix not Las Vegas anymore. If i wanted it back I would have to pay $25  to return it or pay $1800  to fix it. $1800 seemed high so I payed the$ 25 to return it so I could get a second opinion.

    I did not get the hard drive back for 2 weeks . When it came back, every part of the drive was completely disassembled. They did not have the courtesy of putting it back together the way I had originally packaged it. However that was far from the worst part. All the drives failed to mount on my computer including the windows which worked fine. My computer could no longer even detect the USB hard drive which was completely detectable before I gave it  to Nevada Discovery Services . It  is now completely useless. I got the drive back  in a lot worse condition that it was before.

    When I tried to contact Nevada Data Recovery, they were immediately on the defense. They claimed there was no way the drive could have mounted before I sent it . I asked them if they checked it. They said they didn't because it wasn't important or necessary. They completely ignored the problem and went straight for the diagnostic . How can you do a diagnose something without even investigating the cause. They then began to accuse me of lying that my computer detected my windows and mac partition, and that the windows partition mounted. They said I lied because If that was the problem I should have fixed it myself. I tried to explain that it was sensitive data and I didn't want to screw anything up. They said they couldn't do anything and it wasn't there responsibility.

     I find it strange that a company would not even read or listen to problem the customer was having and go straight to the " diagnostic".  The fact that they did not address my concerns in my order and immediately concluded I was lying before even contacting me was very questionable. Usually a company contacts the costumer if they are suspicious about the claim of the problem.

    It seemed like they had this issue before . Nevada Data Recovery Services were completely hostile and defensive when I brought it up.  Its like they were defending claims that I hadn't even made yet. They new exactly what was coming out of my mouth before I said anything.  I believe they irrevocably damaged my data on purpose or accident to a point where my only choice to get it repaired was the pay $1800. I could have fixed the problem myself for $200 by buying a firmware software as that was the issue. Now I cannot do that  because Nevada Data Recovery has damaged my data to a point of only one option left ...there way.

   The  immoral and unscrupulous standards which Nevada Data Recover exerts in there business practices is deplorable. It breaks many cases of business ethics. What was on that drive was irreplaceable. I know this sounded cliche but I had shot a documentary on some orphanages in india and stored them on this drive. This was the delicate data I went to so much trouble to save. And now I don't even know if I can get it  back. It hurts.


   Don't  give this company  any of your data especially if its very important like family photos. You might lose it forever.  They are not trustworthy and will try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible even if it means destroying your property.
