I have worked at New Prospect for several years now and recently our President and CEO Ken Wills sent out an email to all of the employees telling them that there cell phone use was being resrticted. He went on to explain that someone was taking pictures of the computer monitors that had peoples personal informatiom on it and that they have had 3 reports of Credit Card fraud. The employee turnover here is terrible. We will hire anyone. Most people in the company thinks that the person that has been doing this is Donnie Betenbaugh. http://www.goupstate.com/article/20100210/ARTICLES/2101043 Is this the person you would want to have your Credit Card information. This company is corupt from the TOP down.

There is a perfect reason you can't have your cell phone on the

floor! Security is number one. New Prospect prohibits cell phones on the floor. It makes sense.

Facts surrounding anonymous post

AUTHOR: kwills - ()

POSTED: Friday, February 21, 2014

I typically do not respond to anonymous posts of this nature however I felt it necessary to follow-up with facts surrounding the perceived issue due to the overall concern of credit card security that has been front and center in the media.

On February 20th I sent out an email to our staff as a follow-up to a previous email regarding the use of cell phones at agent stations. I have posted the relevant portion of that e-mail to validate this response as it is indisputable.  It was never mentioned that we had agents taking pictures of screens with credit card data or any data for that matter.  Furthermore nothing was mentioned in this email about reports of credit card fraud.

On December 12th, 2013 I did send an email to the staff in an attempt to explain why the use of cell phones at agent stations were no longer permitted. My goal was not to create policy changes with no associated explanation.  In that email I did make mention of “a few issues with credit card fraud in the last 3 months” however, these issues were preliminary and a detailed investigation turned up no evidence of negligence or fraud related activity from our center.  This is significant considering we handle thousands upon thousands of credit card transactions annually with no history of fraudulent activity.

Clearly this post is an attempt to “strike back” as a result of our company’s efforts to maintain a clean track record of PCI compliance and data integrity.  The anonymous poster should realize these efforts are made so as to create job stability and should not be viewed as a punitive measure to our agents.  I explained that agents can still take important calls from caregivers, family members, etc. at their personal extension; we're not out to make life difficult for our employees.  A disagreement with company policy and/or a personal dislike for one's coworkers should not entitle anyone to attempt to defame a company in a public forum.  The best way to defend anonymous posts such as these is to be candid and present the facts instead of perceptions that are unmerited and baseless.

Relevant portion of e-mail dated 2/20/2014 sent at 8:39 AM eastern time:

Team,

As an added point of clarification on the cell phone policy please keep in mind that even if you are not clocked in and working you still cannot use your cell phone at your desk or even have it on your desk.

WHY?  The reason for this policy is due to the stringent regulations related to PCI compliance.  The thinking is that one can take snapshots via the camera phone of sensitive data that may be up on the screen.  Some companies have had to pay out big monies in damages as a result of employees taking pics of credit card data on the screen and then selling and/or using that data for fraudulent purposes.
