We recieved,a preapproval letter with all our information, including, our current loan provider saying we were approved for a lower payment and interest rate. I filled out the application and it was denied. Why send us something saying we are approved and when we fill it out deny us? Now another hit to the credit report. We have tried so hard to build our credit from things that were beyond our control. I think they are a sorry company and never, ever will I apply to them again.

What do you mean by "discrimination"?

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 24, 2017

From your complaint, it sounds like you received an advertisement (a/k/a "pre-approval) with attractive terms to refinance. You made application to the new lender and you were turned down.  How is that discrimination? The lender has guidelines to issue the loan. According to your own post, you were turned down which is another way to say you didn't meet the loan program guidelines.  Just because you receive a solicitation from a lender to apply for a loan, it is not a guarantee that you will get that loan.  You still have to go through the underwriting process, just like the rest of us applying for a loan. That is not discrimination. Was there something else that happened to lead you to that conclusion?
