We hired Page One Power and paid them $8000 to increase our web traffic through Search Engine Optomization. Three months later, we had nothing. I didn't expect to be top ranked on Google in 3 months...but we had NOTHING in the way of traffic from this. Our traffic actually DECREASED...and this is according to the guys at Page One. They admitted we had no increase in traffic to our site, but them blamed that on the fact that our web site was not slick enough. First of all, when we hired them, they said our website looked fine...and didn't give us ANY direction on anything to change about the way it looked. Most importantly, NOBODY WENT THERE, so how is the lack of traffic a result of the way it looks. Nobody had the opportunity to like it or dislike it...because they NEVER GOT THERE to like or dislike it. They didn't have any good response when I came back with that response.
I am not a computer guru. This is why I hired someone to increase our web traffic through SEO. I don't know how SEO works, really...and I don't care. I told them my desired result, which was some type of increase in traffic in the initial 3 months period we paid them for. They assured me that they could produce that result and that they had done wonders for other businesses. They didn't do anything even vaguely resembling increasing our google ranking.
They claim, for our $8000, they "built" all these "good links" which were somehow better or different from the links we could build. Basically, it seems they signed us up for about 25 free directories that we could have done ourselves....how is that unique or better...and how is that worth $8000.00. Most of these directories were not relevant to us. We actually got a complaint from a company who got a spammish emal from Page One Power asking for them to link to our site. Is that what it takes to build a "good link". This particular company was a paid directory...they will link to anyone for a fee. Naturally, they were confused as to why somebody would even ask to be linked for free. If they halfway looked at the site they would know it was not going to be a real link.
We complained to them that they didn't do what we asked and they were allegedly going to call us back with a game plan to fix it. Guess what......we never heard from them until over a month later. At that point, we got an email saying someone was going to get back with us. That was July 15...it has been a month...and NO FOLLOW UP.
We finally wrote a letter asking for a refund and explaining exactly why we wanted it. We gave them a deadline to respond and told them we would be taking legal action if they didn't respond. NO response whatsoever. They have a requirement for arbitration in their contract...which could explain why I couldn't find any lawsuits from other former clients.
We tried to contact one of the principals on Skype.....he BLOCKED us so we couldn't even try to reach him.
I want to make sure you understand that we are a law office. We have been direct, but businesslike. I can see no reason for them to block our attempts at contact...except they are avoiding us because they don't want to deal with a dissatisfied customer.
We will be taking action in the next week or so because what they have done is bad...expensive...and wrong.
