My daughter purchased a two-piece leather sectional sofa 7 weeks before her move-in date for her new home.  Her move-in date is Saturday, March 31, and delivery was scheduled for Saturday, March 31 in the morning.  Yesterday, she received a call from RoomPlace's customer service stating that they planned to deliver one piece of the sectional, but the other piece was on back-order until May 25!

So here's what likely happened... someone else who ordered her same furniture had a problem with one of the pieces.  The RoomPlace pulled my daughter's piece to make that customer happy, then realized that the manufacturer wouldn't be able to replace it in time.   So my daughter, who planned this carefully, is the one who gets ripped off. 

The same pieces were on display at the store, and suddenly are gone, likely sold again long after my daughter placed her offer.  Customer service says that there are no available pieces anywhere, in any of their stores. 

Ironically, we could have had the furniture delivered to our current home and kept it in the garage, since they said they could deliver six weeks ago.  So, the furniture was there then.  They just gave it to someone else, and gave her absolutely NO TIME to fix this before her move-in date.
