I started to receive harassing phone calls almost a year ago from this company... they first started out saying that they were a law firm and that a payday loan company contacted them to represent them in my financial matter.. I asked them to provide documentation of their company and the contract between them and the ONLINE payday loan company, Mr. Vance was the agent... when I requested this info, he started to over talk me, yelled, and then informed me he was hanging up on me...

then there was silence. I tried to call back multiple times, but i was constantly hung up on. When I FINALLY got someone to talk to me, Ms. Brown, she was extremely rude and threatened to go after my wife and her job, after I laughed at her for this, she then threatened me with a FELONY arrest... I once again laughed. I calmly tried to explain to her that the state I live in is NOT a spousal state and that she could NOT file a felony charge on me for the loan I originally took out AND PAID FOR IN FULL was only $300. The calls stopped for about 3 months...

Then TODAY I received a call once again from Mr. Vance... he explained to me that my loan was never paid and that my little loan of $300 now has a whopping grand total of $1,***!! I was a lil livid about that amount and asked about a settlement offer until I can get the proof together that this loan was paid.. he placed me on hold for 47 seconds (I timed him) and then came back with a weird figure of $9**... which I explained was totally UNACCEPTABLE!!! He then informed me that he was hanging up on me again... silence once again... Being this wasn't my first run in with this so called business man, I called back...I was then transferred by yet ANOTHER extremely rude woman back to his desk.. I told him the amount I had to pay, he refused my payment and hung up again....

I tried to call back 8 more times and was hung up on every single time and was even yelled at by a manager (Mike).. he stated that I was wasting their time and NOT to call back again... So of course I did the proper thing and I called yet again.. they transferred me back to Mike and I told him that if he would let me talk for once that I was trying to make a payment but everyone kept over talking me then would hang up on me... When he heard money, his entire demeanor changed. He then offered me a lower settlement at $4**... I told him I had $X amount to pay him and that was all I would be able to pay... He then placed me on hold for almost 15 minutes and came back and said it was a done deal.... I told him that I would get a card, BUT I want proof that they are a real company.... he said they would email that information and at this current time I still have NOT gotten anything......

Now there were other things said during these conversations, but they are not really relevant to this complaint... but I am very VERY ify about paying this company that I know nothing about and the only thing I found on the internet about it was this site with the same complaints that I have about them.

It truly sounds like a script that they are reading into a microphone.. it's like they don't hear a word you are saying.. they like to make multiple threats.. they portrait themselves as a law firm.. they are EXTREMELY rude.. and they REFUSE to mail you anything in writing about their company and the "account they purchased from another company"....any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated........

This could be a scammer

This caller could be a scammer do not give them a dime. If the caller has a middle eastern accent tell them you will have a curse put on them and they strongly believe in this and are very sensitive to curses.

If you paid it in full, why did you request a settlement?

I know you said that you asked about it "for time", but in the mind of a collections agency ANY time you agree to pay you have admitted that you owe the money.

I wouldn't be surprised if down the road they claim that you confirmed the existence of the debt by requesting a settlement.

Good luck and get things in writing!

Do this

Send them a cease communications letter via certified mail with return receipt requested.  Keep copies of all this information.  Since they refuse to send you a letter validating this debt then let them know you will not speak to them unless they provide such information.  Scum bag debt collectors is all they are.

Check out their website where the say they are "professional and have high ethical standards".  What a joke!
