Shoes Only Travel is owned by Jonathan & Lori Baltuch of Atlanta, GA. They also own Fine Food & Wine Cruise.
Fine Food and Wine Cruise is filing bankruptcy and canceling all of its wine cruises. It has already canceled the Merry Edwards Wine Cruise scheduled for June 2013 in Europe and has now canceled the Tobin James Wine Cruise scheduled for April 2013 in Tahiti.
This has affected 100 people with Merry Edwards and 300 people with Tobin James. None of them will see any of their money or receive the cruise. Under Shoes Only Travel they have 4 cruises scheduled over the next 4 years, all on ships owned and operated by Paul Gauguin. If I were booked with Shoes Only Travel for any of these cruises I would be very nervous considering what has happened to the people on the Merry Edwards & Tobin James Wine cruises. Because of the terms of the Travel Guard insurance, this financial default is not covered under their insurance. Beware of booking with Shoes Only Travel.

The warning was accurate. This "travel company" collected money for trips, never delivered, never refunded, and closed up shop. The owners, Jonathan and Lori Baltuch, kept all the profits. Hopefully this information will prevent future consumers from considering any business with them or their shell companies.

"capforfun"'s fact-free claim that Shoes Only Travel is "a great company" notwithstanding (and not withstanding scrutiny ;), you can check to see how wonderfully-run the company is by looking for it online. happy searching!
wait: can't find it?? ohhh, riiiiight: that's because it folded, taking many would-be customers' pre-paid deposits with it. not quite what the original poster warned might happen, but...oh wait: that's actually exactly what the original poster warned might happen. well imagine that...

Shoes Only Travel is owned by the same people that owned Fine Food & Wine Cruise, Lori & Jonathan Baltuch. They took money from over 400 cruisers and failed to deliver a cruise, thus the term "Rip-Off". They basically operated a Ponzi scheme by taking money for future cruises and paying for current cruises.
I am sure you have had wonderful cruises through Shoes Only Travel as I have had through Fine Food & Wine Cruise for the first 6 out of 7 that I did with them. It wasn't until the 7th cruise where they took money from future cruisers and failed to deliver the cruise as contracted. My posting on Shoes Only Travel was a warning that it could happen to you if you are not careful. If you choose to ignore the warning, that is your choice but don't expect your money back if Shoes Only Travel goes belly up.

My wife and I have been traveling with Shoes Only Travel for years and find them to be both extremly honest and they provide excellent customer service.
This complaint is way off base and tries to confuse the reader with complaints about an unrelated busienss. This poster has never traveled with Shoes Only Tarvel and knows nothing about Shoes Only Travel and shame on them for trying to slander a great busienss and the wonderful owners.
