SoCal DBA Ripoff Artists Diamond Bar, California

Our company, AV Power Equipment Services, was sent a letter by SoCal DBA telling us that our name was about to expire. Renewal fees were $85.00 in which we sent a check only to find out that our money was gone and our business name was not renewed. What clued us in was another letter from Ficticious Business Name Renewal Center in Sacramento, California telling us to return the no later than 11/22/2010 or our name was going to expire. I called our bank to find out that our check had been cashed prior to the date of this letter.

After getting ahold of this company in Sacramento they told us that they use a couple of different companies to collect money from them and they have had problems in the past with SoCal DBA not sending them the money. So we called the bank and had the canceled check faxed over to us. Front and back of coarse. Found out they bank at Bank of California. Our bank had never heard of this bank. So we looked them up on the internet and found nothing but online banking. When we looked up SoCal DBA we found this website. I hear about fake companies ripping off people all the time but you never think it can happen to you. But guess what? It doesn't matter how smart you think you are....it does happen...
