I switched service providers for my gas and electricity, to spark energy. The salesman that came to the door assured me i would save money by using them. After my bill repeatedly being higher, i called NationalGrid to see what they would charge per kilowat and therm if i was still using them..... i was shocked! Spark energy is charging me 11 cents a kilowat compared to 4 cents! and spark charges 85 cents a therm compared to 36 cents! in the last 6 months that equated to $530.71 for my household!! I am just sick that i didn't realize this sooner! Do not ever use this company. They are not transparent about what they will charge you, and misrepresent themselves!!! I called Spark to complain and was brushed off....... I hope you don't make the same mistake i did......

#1 Consumer Comment
Spark Energy
AUTHOR: GDB - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2012
All any consumer wants from their electricity supplier is reliable service at a fair price. It is outrageous that companies like Spark Energy appear to be misrepresenting their rates as based on the market when they are in fact much higher. This practice of overcharging for electricity appears to be a blatant violation of consumer protection laws, and Meiselman, Denlea, Packman, Carton & Eberz, P.C. is actively investigating a potential class action against Spark Energy. If you would like to discuss your legal options, please do not hesitate to contact me:
