Staples NYC 390 Avenue of Americas They do not honor Refund Policy New York, New York
*Consumer Comment: Yes, it is.
Bought a tablet from these guys and they refused to honor the refund policy on the basis that since the box was opened - basically two plastic tabs neatly cut open on the side - deemed the product "unsaleable".
You can only get a refund if the box is unopened - which is not the spirit of the refund policy.
Stick to an apple retails store as they are honest and honor their refund policy. Do not buy from this store if you intend to have any customer support.

That's not only the spirit of the refund policy, it's the letter of the refund policy. It's certainly not a ripoff just because you don't like it. You are free to buy from a store with a policy that you do agree with.
BTW, an opened box computer cannot be sold as new. Who would buy it? I wouldn't touch an opened box computer with a 10 ft. pole. It has obviously been returned for some reason.
That's why many stores have similar policies.
