Regarding my regrettable purchase of a 2003 Toyota Camry from Team Nissan is an experience I shall never forget.

Team Nissan used car Sales Department is run by a gang of CROOKED  street thugs.

My experience was one of abuse and illicit treatment by TEAM NISSAN.  I had substantial complaints as well as witnesses that I should had filed with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs, as well as the Attorney Generals office against Team Nissan.

I made an offer to purchase the used 2003 Toyota Camry for sticker price with cash in hand.    I was told, Sorry the price just went up.     I and my friends walked out in disgust.   I shopped around for a day or two, but could not find a Camry so I returned to Team Nissan to pay their NEW INCREASED PRICE.

I was told, I have good news and bad news, the good news is the car is still available and the bad news is the price just went up.   This thug went by the name of Marcus.

The price was increased for a SECOND TIME in about three days.   Again I walked out.

My problem was I did not give myself enough time to find a car and I was pressed for time.   In retrospect, I should have simply rented a car until I could find a vehicle at a REPUTABLE DEALER.    I would have saved THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

I learned this the hard way thanks to Team Nissan.

Because I was pressed for time and needed a car immediately and wanted a Camry, I telephoned Team Nissan and asked if the car was still available, if so at the LAST QUOTED PRICE.  I was told yes and within the hour returned with  cash in hand to make the purchase.

Upon arrival I was informed by the Manager, that the price just went up AGAIN and with that I became irate and shouted that I would report Team Nissan to every government agency for their unlawful business practices.

The department was full of shoppers and I had their attention.   The Manager obviously wanted to quiet my outburst in a packed department, asked my salesman if he had quoted me the price on the phone as I stated.   The salesman said yes, the manager said, Let her have it.   SO THE PRICE WENT UP TWICE AND TRIED FOR A THIRD TIME.    The car was now priced
THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS MORE THAN ITS  ORIGNIAL STICKER PRICE AND FAR MORE THAN ITS MARKET VALUE.

I effectively paid Thousands of Dollars more than the car was worth.

I purchased two cars since the 2003 Camry.

A 2009 Toyota Camry and a 2009 Toyota Corolla.     I paid LESS  for the 2009 Camry than I paid to Team Nissan for the 2003 Camry.   SIX YEARS NEWER FOR LESS MONEY AND NO ABUSE.   (I did buy the 2009 from a private seller)

My experience at Team Nissan can only be described with one word.   REPUGNANT.

Lest I forget; the Camry emission light went on and I went to Nissan to have it checked.   A charge of $80.00 and the problem was fixed, however, three weeks later the same thing happened again and I went back to Team Nissan.    This time they said it was the computer and the cost would be $240.00.     I walked, and good thing!   I shared this problem with a co-worker whose brother was a mechanic.   Turned out I was not closing the gas tank cap tight enough and air was getting in the gas tank.   No computer problem!  No problem at all!   SHAME TEAM NISSAN.

MARIE, YOU CAN MAKE COPIES OF YOUR RIPOFF REPORT AND STAND OUTSIDE OF THE DEALERSHIP......

AUTHOR: Karl - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, January 21, 2012

passing them out to people going by so they are aware of what happened to you, correct? (Just stay off of their property if you decide to do it.)

If you type in 354721 at this site you can read Jerry's Ripoff Report. After the Toyota dealership decided not to help him, he put vinyl lemons all over his 2007 Toyota Camry and parked it outside the dealership and passed out flyers. It worked! The dealership finally paid for a new engine, which had a faulty electrical system that was causing the sludge in the engine.

Make sure to type in 354721 and read Jerry's Ripoff Report and his '#3 Update by Author' at Ripoff Report #354721.

Good luck to you.

I can't stay out of this one

AUTHOR: voiceofreason - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 20, 2012

I think I've stumbled into the best potential wacko thread for 2012.
Until I saw the ferocious responses from Marie Annette, I figured maybe the Keith Friberg gym joker was behind this.

There once was a woman named Marie
Who yearned for a Toyota Camry
And not just any would do
As fate would have you
She needed a 2003

Every time they raised their price
She stormed out saying, that's not nice
But back in she'd come
Like an epic dum dum
Oh how much that Camry did entice

So on and on they raised
The amount she eventually paid
And raging on, she shows
That her judgment evidently blows
Team Nissan sure had her made

Lady, are you into BDSM? You sure come off as a masochist going back over and over.
Why shouldn't they keep raising the price? They also knew they had the only 2003 Camry within your area. When a commodity is rare, its price tends to rise. That's simple economics.
They sold you what you willingly paid for, so no ripoff.
And your acidic responses to others here makes you sound pretty thuggish yourself.

Do you have any idea how pathetic you made yourself look telling this story here? Going back over and over and over. Haven't you enough flexibility of mind and character to ditch plan A, getting that specific Camry, and maybe moving to find a plan B or C, a second or third choice instead? You wanted something in very short supply and you obviously made it clear to these guys that you'd pay anything short of sexual favors to get it.

Please by all means keep responding like a nut job, because it's excellent entertainment. Just please, cut out the multi-line white space line breaks. That's extremely juvenile of you.

Warn others against what... not to negotiate a price above the asking price for a vehicle? Everybody knows better than that... except you. Too comical.

How Dare You Accuse Me of Lying

AUTHOR: Annette - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 20, 2012

To quote you:

"Don't make reports full of half truths or just because you are angry with someone".

How dare you accuse me of lying!!!!!      Is that the only way you can dispute someone, by accusing them of lying?        That is sinking pretty low.

I stated the facts. ONLY THE FACTS.   Moreover, I have witnesses.   I also saved one letter from Team Nissan regarding the 2003 Camry.

I exposed my repugnant expierence at Team Nissan in Marietta Ga for only one reason.   To warn others.

I did not have a computer at the time to research/shop via the internet.    I went through the Yellow Pages and directly to various dealers.   I could not find another 2003 Camry and I was short for time......Three days.....

I repeat, I posted this terrible expierence to warn others.    This was a total waste of my time.

You accuse me of "half truths", therefore, it would appear that my complaint against Nissan was VALID afterall.    Otherwise why would you accuse me of lying????   Half truth is a LIE.   I stated the facts only.    And what is your point in defending Nissan and calling me a liar?

I find you really offensive.

I am done with this.

The point.

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, January 19, 2012

" I find it interesting that Nissan is defended in their illegal action.  "

I think the point that most of the responders was trying to make is that there wasn't anything illegal about that deal.   It happens at car dealers every day, mostly to people who tip off the sales person that they will accept such treatment.

A car deal is a negotiation.  The "price" of a vehicle is the one that is finally agreed to by both parties in the signed sales contract.  If you go into the negotiation with both hands tied behind your back, it usually results in a very bad, but entirely legal deal.

It might be a good idea to make sure that your Toyota Camry had the proper recall work performed by a Toyota dealership before you drive it again, wouldn't you agree? The Nissan dealership should be able to contact the former owner and get you the proper paperwork showing that your Camry was fixed in the massive recall a few years ago, correct?

Have a nice day.

Annette, what the other posters are trying to say...

AUTHOR: Brian - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

is that you are a M-O-R-O-N.  Of course you were ripped off, you allowed it.  This dealership jacked the price up on you three times.  You even walked out at least once because of it.  Yet, you still went back and bought the car from them.  That is some kind of grand stupidity.  Marietta is a suburb of Atlanta, you'll never convince me that the Camry you bought was the only one available.  Hogwash, not in the entire Atlanta metro area.  I'm sorry to be so blunt, but you seem to be more concerned with arguing with the other posters about the sequence of events than learning how not to let this happen to you again.

Ummm

AUTHOR: IceAngel - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Sorry but I also agree with Robert.   YOU allowed them to do it. YOU returned 2x without calling and then called them to ask about the car and returned to buy it. They knew you were interested when you first tried to buy it. They probably thought they lost a sale when you walked out the 1st time. Imagine the thoughts when they saw you the 2nd time. They KNEW you were hooked. Why not try to get the most out of it if they could. Bad salesmen? Maybe. But you allowed them to do that.  YOU signed on the dotted line and YOU handed over the cash. I dont know what you told the salesmen about the Camry. If you told him how badly you wanted that type of car etc..that may have also gave more clues into how much you wanted it and set the stage for more pressuring.

You stated you were a salesperson. How were you paid? Salary? Commission? Differant types of sales persons say and do things differantly, depending on the type of sales. Some use pressure sales, some are just regular sales. Some sales people need a sale to get paid. So they use differant tactics to make sure they get money. You seem like a nice salesperson who knew/knows how to be nice and get repeats.

Again, you shouldnt have returned. Granted you wanted that type of car and of you told the salesmen you wanted it,then they knew they had you hooked. Especially after returning the 2nd time.

No I do not work for Nissan..Never have. My brother was a car salesman and he didnt like it. Long hours trying to "force" people to buy something they didnt need or couldnt afford. So I know something of the tactics used but not alot.

If you notice most posts are in RIpOff have a well stated comment from Robert...Irvine. He makes sensible points and helps most people to get some sort of closure on their problem or at times directs them where to go. He breaks down a post and sees where someone might think they were wronged but werent.   (No I dont know him either...just saying that he wasnt being nasty...just proving a point)

Sadly many of you people who post on here..dont realize that what you do harms innocent people.

Ive seen post after post where the "wronged" party posted that they were ripped off only to return with an update and an apology..after the damage was done.  Many people check this site ...see the ripoff report and decide not to buy from that person or company based on the original post. In many cases they dont return to see an update with an apology. This entails a loss of business/sale that is gone forever.

Before posting make sure your totally right. Dont make reports full of half truths or just because your angry with someone.

AUTHOR: coast - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

If you had test-driven the car and THEN offered 20% less than the sticker price you probably would have struck a deal. When you walked in and flat out offered to pay the asking price, they knew they had a fish and all they needed to do was reel it in.

This may have been your first or second auto purchase from a sales rep that has sold thousands of cars. His experience led him to believe he could do much better. His instincts were correct.

I just found 81 used Toyota Camrys for sale within 30 miles of Marietta on the Edmunds web site. You failed to use the tools available to you. Better luck next time.

I Am Tired Of Repeating Myself.

AUTHOR: Annette - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Hello......did you read my post...

I wanted a 2003 Camry......Nissan had the only one in the area to my knowledge.   I needed a vehicle within 2 to 3 days.

My choice was buying a car that I didn't want or buying the car that I did want at a greatly inflated price.

Sir, Did you notice that I bought two more cars since, and not from Nissan?   Very happy with both purchases.

I put up this complaint to warn others, not to be insulted.

I find it interesting that Nissan is defended in their illegal action.    If I left a diamond ring on my table and a workman came in and stole my ring, I take it that it would be my fault for leaving a diamond ring on the table.    Same analogy.   The victim was at fault.

My point was to help others by exposing how I was taken advantage of because of my circumstance of needing a car immediately....with a specific car in mind.    A car that I planned to keep for a number of years.    How about if you need an organ transplant immediatly and the price kept going up just because it was a matter of life or death in days?.....think about it.

It seems that to have morals today is looked down upon.    The world is overtaken by greed.   I don't think like you, and I would rather be dead before my morals and mind would be so corrupted.

You might want to contact Toyota Corporation and the dealership ASAP.

Again You Misquote Me. Are You a Shill?

AUTHOR: Annette - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

You certainly are deficient in English comprehension.

Read again slowly and concentrate to best of your ability.

I walked out TWICE, NOT THREE TIMES.

After spending a day trying to find a Camry to no avail I TELEPHONED Nissan to inquire if the car was still available and at the LAST quoted price.   I was told yes.

I arrived within the hour to buy the car----THAT WAS THE THIRD VISIT. The Manager apparently was expecting me because he interrupted the closing, saying that the price just went up for the THIRD TIME.   That is when I had my outburst and threatened Nissan with legal action.

Now read the above again slowly.

I never went home as you claim to get the money.   To repeat:

I walked twice; than called, then RETURNED FOR THE THIRD TIME TO ATTEMPT TO BUY THE CAR.

Do you work for Nissan?

You would fit in perfectly.

Further, I have saved a letter from Team Nissan signed by Dave Weatherford, Internet Sales Manager, to offer his services.    He mentions my 2003 Camry purchase.    I

saved this document as proof of my purchase.

Moreover, other letters from Nissan invited me to trade in the 2003 Camry and make another purchase.

Fed up with hearing from them I called my salesman and I requested Nissan to stop contacting me.     He recalled the Saga perfectly.   He said he was new at the time of my event, and the other men,  who were nothing but street thugs, interrupted and raised the price to help him with his sale.    During that phone call, I asked for his manager and he gave me his managers email address.   I sent his manager a letter stating my repugnant experience.

I heard nothing back.   In fact, I sent THREE EMAILS, NO REPLY.

Again, do you work for Nissan?

You repeatedly misquoted and tried to undermine my legitimate complaint.     This was worth it if I saved just ONE

person from the abuse I had experienced.

Regarding my name:  As you know, this site allows one to use another name and location, which I took advantage the first time.    I failed to repeat the process when replying to you.

My name is Annette and I am from Marietta and this event is true.

Get another job.you are not doing well at this one.

I will not be replying to further comments from you.   Your identity is pretty obvious.

Why no one takes you seriously.

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Do you wonder why car dealers use tactics such as the ones you describe?    It's because they work.    You are living proof of that.    After being jerked around twice, you returned a third time for the privilege of paying more than the car was worth.   The dealer actually made more money off the sale by using these tactics.   You reinforced their belief in these tactics by rewarding them for their treatment of you.    Sounds bizarre, but there are also folks in this world who will pay someone to beat them.   Go figure.

How bad could their treatment have been if you returned three times, AND you bought the car for more than they were asking.   Most reasonable people would not consider rewarding those who they feel are mistreating them.   That alone sucks the credibility right out of your report.

Clearly Stated?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Your report and Updates were NOT Clearly Stated.

Unfortunately your superior "Mental capacity" seemed to have caused you to miss the entire point.   I would suggest you take a refresher course in Reading Comprehension to improve your Mental Capacity even more.  So let's try this again.

You very well may have been Ripped Off, but YOU(and your friend) let them do it to you.

In your update you stated...
I had cash in hand the first time for the sticker price.    I never left to go home for the money;  I was shopping with money.  I wanted a car then and there. CASH.

Okay YOU physically left the dealer 2 times per your original report.  The only time I mentioned that you left to get the money was the THIRD time you left when you stated.....
I was told yes and within the hour returned with  cash in hand to make the purchase.

Notice the part that is underlined.  How exactly can you return if you never left?

Anyways...there was NOTHING forcing you to come back other than your desire to get a Camry.  They "pushed" you as far as they thought they could and you caved in.  Perhaps your next two buying experiences went better because you were not such a pushover.

I said they lost a customer because I bought two cars since and NOT FROM THEM.    Do you understand.   I can't make it any clearer.    They lost a customer for future sales.   DO YOU GET IT or is your brain wasted?

Wrong Again...How (honest) Sales Work

AUTHOR: Annette - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

They did not do what a saleperson "does".    They broke the law by advertising one price and then selling for another.

BTW, I was in Sales for years; Diamonds and fine jewerly.    I had REPEAT customers and I was also a top seller.    Why? because I was honest, sincere, and cared about my customers.   I wanted them to be happy.   Prices didn't increase because a customer had the dough.     INTEGRITY.   That's the only way to build up a clientele, a business.

And you are wrong again...I did want the car.   I wanted a Camry.   They had the only one around, but the third time they pulled their thugery, I was ready to make formal complaints about them to every government agency possible and they knew I meant business.

So you say they saw me coming.....But I never went back.   They send me letters all the time until I complained I do not want anything to do with them.   The bottom line is I NEVER WENT BACK.   They lost a customer.

Why do you comment when you did not read my post

AUTHOR: Annette - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

You didn't read my post.    I had cash in hand the first time for the sticker price.    I never left to go home for the money;  I was shopping with money.  I wanted a car then and there. CASH.

First time they took my money then a thug would come over and hand my money back to me and said the price just went up.   Me and my friends walked.    As I said, I needed a car within 2 to 3 days.    I was the perfect customer, no wasting time, BUT THEY WOULDN'T SELL ME THE CAR.

I checked around and could not find a Camry 2003.   That is why I went back.   The only reason.    They pulled this on me TWICE.    They tried it the third time after the phone call.   The "manager" knew I was coming in and he interupted  my closing sale and said the price just went up and that's when  I went ballistic.    He wanted to quiet me and sold me the car.

It is against the law to advertise one price  (the original price on the car) and then tell a customer, sorry the price just went up.

BTW, thats what they pulled everytime.   I would be closing with the salesman and another thug would come over and say, "Sorry the price just went up."

As I said, I learned the hard way:  Rent until you find a reputable dealer.

They did EXACTLY what a salesperson does...sell the car for the best price they can get.

I effectively paid Thousands of Dollars more than the car was worth.
- If there was any RipOff..you let them do it.  You walked out TWICE, actually 3 times if you count the time you went to actually get the money.  Each time you had the CHOICE to not go back and take the time to search for a car another place but you didn't want to do that.  You kept coming back and they knew they had you.

I just wonder how bad you really wanted this car and if they raised it up another 3-4 times if you would have still gone back and got the car.  I think the answer is probably yes.
