I went to Magic Toyota dealership in Shoreline for the purposes of buying a new toyota.  They showed me some used corollas and even though we asked to lower the price they wouldn't budge.  They also refused to let me leave.  So even though I didn't really want the car, because I was so tired and hungry as they kept us there too long (several hours) and tortured me with refusing to let me get something to eat, and because they said I could return it in 3 days if I didn't like it, I ended up buying the car.  This was a huge mistake, and my parents weren't happy about it, so they told me to return the car.  Of course, I wasn't able to. as even though every other state has a 3 day return policy, Washington doesn't as I just found out.  So all I could do was try to exchange the car.  They also kept important details away from me and lied to me about how much the car was worth to keep the price up, as I found out later.  They even promised my friend who was there that he would get a $50 referral check, which they never sent.  I found out later that he had to fill out paperwork to get it, which nobody mentioned throughout the whole ordeal.  After the sale was over, they even told my friend in front of me, that they would give him an extra $100 if he could get me to spend another $1000.  Even I thought that was odd.  They also sold me lojack and warranty lying to me about how it would help with insurance prices, when I found out that was a lie, I tried to at least return that.  They refused saying they told me (they didn't) and that I signed something that said I knew that, but I couldn't find that in any of the papers and they refused to show me the mentioned document.  They refused to allow me to return the lojack, which led to more drama with trying to return it, as even the people who sell lojacks didn't understand why the dealership was refusing to return it.  In the end, I was forced to install the lojack even though I didn't want it.

All these things led to another ordeal where I tried another toyota dealership (Lake City Toyota) to fix the problem.  Unfortunately, they turned out to be just as dirty of car salesmen as the Magic Toyota dealership.  They used the same tactics and promised me a good deal to buy a camry from them, and trade in my corolla, but then I found out later that they charged me full price for the car lying to me about how much they sold it to me for, and the down payment I had put in the corolla was gone.   This is also overlooking the fact that there was some sexual harassment from involved where I only put up with it because the salesman (named Peter Lee) said he would help me, but then disappeared faster than the wind when I was forced to make it clear I would never sleep with him after putting up with his stronger and stronger advances.

This entire ordeal was of a great burden to me, and the repeated trips where I had to go to each dealership only to have them turn me away as "the person wasn't there" when they told me to come at the time and the frustration would take it's toll on me and then I would have to deal with their utter rudeness for it, when they would put me in the frustrated mood in the first place.  Buying my first car should not have been such a miserable experience.

Unless you have a ton of money you want to blow away at one place and love being lied to, cheated, and put up with incredibly rude people when you are forced to point it out to them, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

P.S.  It should also be noted that later on, I had to put up with the manager (a different man named Peter Lee) calling me a loser.  Even though I didn't say anything, that was extremely insulting and  unprofessional.

Are they spending Christmas in jail?

AUTHOR: coast - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, December 24, 2012

Torturing someone and holding them against their will is a very serious crime. It seems as though you would have feared for your safety but you chose to return to the dealer. Were they arrested after you filed charges against them with the Edmonds, WA Police Department? Was your friend tortured too?

"they charged me full price for the car lying to me about how much they sold it to me for"

The price is on the Bill of Sale. Did you read it before signing or did the second dealer also torture you?

How Dumb Is This?

They didn't chain you to a chair...they weren't holding a gun to your head! You voluntarily played DOORMAT and now you have buyers remorse. You have feet then you walk out. If they have your keys, you call the police. I don't remember if you claim to be a man or not but if so, then you better check to make sure.
