My friend , Carole, a disabled senior, lived alone with her little chihuahua.  They were all each other had.  She lived on a very meek fixed income.  She had surgery and subsequently had to board her little baby at the vet clinic.  While in the hospital, she called every day to check up on her little Molly, the Chihuahua.  They told her she was fine.  Then called up to say that Molly just had a stroke and she died before she could see her or hold her.  It was devestating for her, loving her so deeply and never even getting to see her again alive or hold her.  She was depressed, couldnt function, crying all the time.  She needed something to fill the void in her heart so she searched for chihuahua puppies on the internet and this particular scam site came up.  She saw a puppy she really wanted and filled out the information on-line to inquire about it.  They responded with instructions on how to pay - gave her a discount because she was on a fixed income.  They told her that, just like it says on the website, that they were christian people who home-raised their litle babies and they went to church and helped the homeless and needy children after church and made it sound like they were saints.

Then they told her to send $300 for the puppy and an additional $350 for the shipping.  It would be shipped directly to her home town in Joplin, MO. and then it would be picked up by certified couriers who would bring her straight to her home.  Well, that was perfect for her because she didn't drive and she always had to beg people for rides to take her places so she decided to do it.  She saved up the $650. and got a ride to Walmart like they asked her to do and pay by Walmart Money Gram.  When she sent it, she emailed me and told me she was so excited that she just came back from sending the money for Molly.  Then the Breader (Unity Chihuahua Home) told her when they would be emailing her the papers for her to sign to take ownership and everything which made it sound very legit to her.  She said she did her homework, called the BBB & the Chamber of commerce in Greenbelt, MD where they said they were located and found nothing negative, no listing either.  She called the breeder and asked for additional pics of the puppies, which they sent.  She also asked for phone numbers of previous customers who purchased  from them which they supplied and she called.  These people all sang their praise.

My friend Carol signed all the papers and emailed the signed papers of ownership back to the breeder and was told the puppy would be taken to the Shipper that day and she could possibly have her the next day!  She was so excited.  Then she received another email from the breeder that said thather husband already took the Puppy to the shipper and and was on its way.  She kept me in the loop throughout this whole process. They sent her another email saying that the name of the shipping company was Continental Prime Logistics CPL and what their website was either cprime_logistics@usa.com or cplogisticship.com and also gave her a tracking number (CPLS042220160) so that she could track her travel.  They sent the flight schedule that said it left Greenbelt, MD and it had a layover at Will Rogers Airport, Oklahoma City, OK and would be arriving at 2:55 am in the morning at the Joplin Airport. There were only times but no flight numbers.  She was beyond excited.  She stayed up all night and no one came, no one called nothing.  She called the airport to see if anyone picked up her puppy on that flight from Continental Prime and the agent said there were NO planes scheduled to land at that time in the morning and that the only planes that landed in Joplin were from Dallas.  He proceded to tell her that she had probably been scammed!  She put the tracking number in the shippers website and it said Pending Additional Refundable Insurance Money!  She was livid! She didnt have any more money - just $59 to her name.  She began to cry hysterically and called me and tole me she waited up all night and what the notice said when she put in the tracking number.  She emailed the Shipper and said she couldn't come up with any more money and they would have to take the puppy back to the breeder.  She didn't want it to sit there any longer.  They said "Absolutely Not! You are the legal owner now and we can only deal with you.  You need to come up with this money as your puppy almost died and they would have to take her to a kill shelter and notify the AKC & my friend would be brought up on charges of animal abuse, neglect and abandonment!

She then called the breeder and had to leave a message for them to get back to her.  They finally emailed her back was told that because it was a Sunday, they were off doing God's work and that the puppy no longer belonged to them because she already signed the papers of ownership and that the money was refundable when she got her puppy.  That she needed to come up with the additional money so the puppy could be sent. They even offered to pay half if she could come up with $610 so she asked me. She didn't want the dog to die.  It was going on the third day! I knew it was a scam - but she was so distraught that I also did the Walmart money gram and sent them the $610 which was supposed to be refundable when the puppy was delivered. They kept emailing Carole to find out if I sent the $610 yet because a plane was about to leave and they could get her on it and that I needed to take a picture of the receipt and my reference number on my phone and email it to cprime_logistics@USA.com ASAP which I immediately did. Now they have my money too and are asking Carole for an additional $380 for a refundable charge on an airconditioined container because the puppy needs it to finish its flight - that it almost died!

So we are trying to keep stalling them and have notified the Attorney General's office in Joplin, MO and I will notify mine here in Las Vegas, NV as I am now a victom of the scam. We are trying to keep them from shutting down until the authorities look into this.  I had my sister go to the breeders site (unitychihuahuahome.com) request 2 of their puppies and we are hoping to string them along until somebody finds out who they really are and if they are even in this country.  They are really interested because my sister wants 2 of them and will pay anything.  They told her that they were located in Oklahoma City, OK - not Greenbelt, MD. Anyway, Carole and I both have kept all money reciets with reference numbers to maybe really check which Walmart the money was picked up at and also the name of the breeder who picked up the money (Jonathan Gim Jones, 7101 Greenbelt Rd, Greenbelt MD 20770) and also the name of the person who picked up my money at another Walmart (Thomas Rick Gibson, 301 Greenbelt Drive, Greenbelt, MD 20770) - obviously bogus addresses and they are probably one in the same using fake ID cards!  Stay away, they are very slick!!!  The last 2 emails came in while Carole had a Police officer there to take down her complaint.. He said to have me try to keep them on the hook until the detectives could catch them.  Doubt that will happen but I will definately NOT be sending any money!  Stay away from Breeder/Shipper combinations as they are one in the same and their websites are very convincing!
