Terrible company.  Every bit of a used car dealership.  Prices on line are cash only; never states that anywhere. If you need to finance the price goes up $2,000.  Takes about a week for you to actually get the car that you are financing. Dealt with salesman named Jimmy who promised us everything the dealership could not give us.  We were told Monday the financig would go through and we would get our car. That didn't happen.  Wewere given a loaner car that not only overheated, did not start the next morning so I could not get to work. Then when I told them I did not want to buy the car because the loaner they gave me didn't work after Jimmy told me it was a great little car.  I was hung up on and it took numerous attempts to get the finance guy to talk to me; all I wanted was my deposit back. I went down there and got the same thing he kept telling me he would see what he could do and call me.  No call was ever made to me. I went there a second time and got the same results; again no phone call.  I should have read reviews about the company before leaving a deposit.  If you read all their reviews on all the different sites you will even see there is an employee who tells you how crooked they are.  My deposit wasn't very much (in their eyes) but it is a weeks paycheck to me. They still have a car to sell I am walking out with nothing when I was told by Jimmy I would get my money back if we decided to not buy the car.  This was my first car buying experience and it was horrible. On a side note when I went to leave my deposit they would not take a check, they said their credit card machine is down and only take cash. Now I see why. Be wary.

Hang On a Minute...

Did you receive ANY paperwork which details the deposit transaction?  If so, what does it say about a refund?  Unless it says there is absolutely zero refund, then I suggest highly you NOT ROLLOVER and forget this.  Contact you Clerk of Courts about filing a small claims suit.  You don't need a lawyer.  Even if you lose, they still need to take their time to show up.  Please don't give up on this!

Never pay your deposit in cash

Of course you know that now because you were just scammed out of your deposit. But, for the future, if they are asking for the deposit in cash and won't take a personal check or cashiers check, then you know its a scam to keep your deposit. Walk away, don't give any deposit if the dealer is asking for cash only.

Since you are a first time car buyer, do some research on your credit info and purchasing a vehicle. There are all kinds of car dealer scams that even 'legitimate' dealers use to rope you into a higher price or higher interest rate or longer terms or all of three. To avoid most of the scams go to a credit union to get your financing lined up first before you ever step foot in a dealership. That way you won't get hit with a high rate. Remember, the dealership finance guy gets additional commission for adding onto your interest rate. They know you don't know since it is your first time buying a vehicle. Research your vehicle options long before you go to test drive so you know what you are buying and how much it costs to purchase. Stay away from the Buy Here Pay Here type dealers and most small lots that don't have the price sticker right on the vehicle. Lastly, after you have obtained your financing through the credit union, done your research, negotiated online for the best possible price, then go test drive the vehicle of your choice and buy it. The most important part: READ THE CONTRACT. If you do your homework you won't be $crewed at the dealership.  Good luck.
