ValueBank of Texas is are ripping off their member. Please stay away from this bank!! In our latest problem, the last of 4 in the past year, the bank will put a hold on your funds that should be available up to 14 business days for no apparent reason. We had 2 done to us in the past two weeks. Once fro getting gas at a gas station and the other for paying a mom and pop store where we left a tip.

Yes, I understand that this is "normal banking procedures" but these two have been extraordinary experiences where the initial charge went through for the gas. $15.00. Then a $75.00 pending autorization, which I know sometimes happens. The charge was done on 6/9/16 and as of this morning, the $15.00 charge was went through and cleared on the 6/13. However, the $75.00 was still there pending. I called the bank and the very rude customer service rep said we had to get a letter mailed to them from the gas station or faxed on a company letterhead stating that we do not owe this money and that they already received thier $15.00 a week ago. I had to call the gas station corporate office, and we called ValueBank on 3-way and the gas station said it was not them holing the money, it was the bank.

Second thing, same issue with mom and pop store. $10.00 charge and we wrote in a $2.00 tip. This happened the very next day. Monday, I saw the intial $10 and then the one for $12. So i thought everything was fine. Nope! A week later, $10 still pending!!!! Called bank again!!! They said same thing, fax or mail a letter saying that we do not owe this money. Its a GD mom and pop place! They dont have a fax or offical letter head!!! So this one $10 charge will stay on our account until infinity I guess!!

Do Not Swith to This Bank!!!!!

Do Not Trust This Bank!!!!

Do Not Do Business With This Bank!!!!

They will rip you off!!!!!

And your wrong again...

If this was the bank's doing this would happen to every charge. Especially those at gas stations and restaurants/ other businesses where you leave a tip. The 3 way call worked because the bank got confirmation that the company was not going to ask for the payment. Again showing it's something the company's did, not the bank.

It's SOP here that one someone posts something the OP doesn't like that they "work for the bank". I don't and actually have never heard of this bank. Just trying to explain why what happened happened. And then you go getting all emotional and call names. Says wonders for your maturity.

Wrong company...

This is not the fault of the bank. If the bank was doing this it would happen every time you use your card. This is the fault of the companies you patronize. Caused by the way they request the authorization and compounded by them not requesting the payment on the same authorization number to cancel out the hold.
