The flooring put down in Feb. started to buckle in March, soon after I came back to Canada due to health problems.  I have called several times and Alan Wright keeps saying he will do something but does nothing.  The floor is badly buckled and considering I paid $3100 for this floor (which later I learned was nearly $1,000 over what others in the park I live in paid for the same size area) I have made arrangements for someone to call in North Fort Myers and he has never contacted this person either.

When you call he does not answer phone (probably sees that it comes from Canada) and when I leave messages does not respond. I have engaged a lawyer and will have to pursue this in courts as this man is unethical, not trustworthy and does not tell the truth or keep appointments when he says he will.  To add insult to injury the floor was laid in the wrong direction and I have a plan drawn by Alan Wright which shows this. I agreed that I would live with this error but the workmanship is inferior and not professional in any way.

How many square feet?

AUTHOR: Inspector - (USA)

$3100 is a very large sum to pay for laminate flooring unless you are talking about 3000 or more square feet.
Laminate floors are floating.  Buckling is caused by not leaving a space for movement around the edges and also the flooring should be left in the room to aclimate prior to installation for 2 or more days depending on humidity levels.  There should also be padding under the planks and never fasten or glue the floor directly to the subfloor.  It sounds like your installer does not know how to lay laminate flooring.

Take pictures and sue him.
