The order included a gift card, sent to an e-mail address of jeremy.phillips187@yahoo.com . I am assuming this is the thief that hacked the account.
I called Walmart customer service, and was placed on hold for half an hour...when I finally spoke to a person, she transferred me to another department, where I again waited on hold for half an hour. When the customer service rep finally picked up, he refused to help me, or remove the charges. He said he could only "escalate" my claim back to billing.
I tried several times to e-mail customer service and explain my issue, but each time I did I got an automated response that made no sense. There appears to be no one answering e-mails, I just keep getting these wierd, cut and paste responses.
Even though they had plenty of time to remove the fraudulent charge before it hit my credit card, they billed my credit card for the full amount. I then received an e-mail, two weeks later, that they would only refund half of the charge.
After doing research on-line, I discovered that Walmart.com was hacked, and that many consumers have experienced fraudulent charges on their accounts. Walmart has known of this security breach for a while, but has not responded to consumer complaints. I would warn anyone to not shop at Walmart.com, and if you have ever done so, log in to your account and remove your billing information immediately, as they keep your credit card information in their system, which has been compromised. I never lost my credit card, and no other fraudulent charges have appeared on my card, so the problem is Walmart.com. They appear to have NO customer service in place to help consumers, and are refusing to assist the victims of fraud.

Search TipsAbout one week later I received several e-mails notifying me of multiple purchases of the same item on Walmart.com. Logging in to the account I found that indeed there were multiple purchases that could not be cancelled but, here is where it really starts to get weird, the hackers had entered a credit card of another person on my account and made the purchases.
This would indicate that these hackers have access to valid credit card numbers and are then using hacked accounts to make purchases. Unfortunately Walmart has a lax policy on passwords and limits the length to 11 characters so you cannot have a really strong password.
I have changed my password to as strong a password is possible with 11 characters and will wait to see if they break in again. I did take the step of deleting the credit card information to at least try to protect the person being scammed.
I have notified Walmart both times by e-mail with no response from their customer service.
