 I would like to warn anyone who is searching for an AKC Alaskan Malamute puppy to stay far, far away from Mrs. Misty Jo Dhooge and her husband Mr. Toby Dhooge and their 'business partner ' Ms. Sabrina Benson. They are currently running their "Kennel" as either Eastern Plains Alaskan Malamutes or on facebook they are known as EP Alaskan Mals. They are listed on many sales pages and also on facebook to sell a litter of white Alaskan Malamutes born on 1/14/16. They claim that the b***h had to have a C-section to deliver the 11 puppies she had. They owed us a puppy in return for a trade of bitches. We bred the white female "Konnie". We traded her to them for a red female. In our contract there were several stipulations. The main one being that we would each be given the "pick of the whole litter" once the bitches were old enough to breed. I should mention the red b***h we got is standard size. Konnie is a larger female or as some would say a giant. Responsible breeders do not breed the larger females until their second birthday where as some vets and other older breeders suggest that standard bitches can be bred at 18 months to 24 months old. The stipulations placed in the contract state that since Konnie is white and they live in the eastern part of Colorado where the heat can get into the mid 100's. 110 degrees is NOT unusual in the summer/fall time. Konnie was supposed to live INSIDE in the air conditioning when the heat is greater than 80 degrees. She was also supposed to have access to her 'pool' which was provided to them free of charge when she was outside. We put these stipulations in place due to the fact that she killed her stud Bolt with heat stroke due to not providing water to him on a day when it was 117 degrees that day for the high with a low that day of 88 at 11pm. Misty herself told me this after Konnie came to live with her. I have always required all puppies be inside dogs and have access to a pool or water at all times ever since I started breeding so, this is my standard practice eapecially IN Colorado! Misty herself told me how Bolt died. At that point I considered taking Konnie back but, Misty begged me not to and PROMISED that she was following the rules and that Konnie only went outside at night and that she lived INSIDE! She kept sending pictures. When the red b***h had her litter I showed Misty all of the puppies and she had her "pick of the litter" . She xhose her puppy which was delivered to her. I was waiting for Konnie to deliver so I could pick mine. Well , on 1/14/16 I get a message from Misty letting me know that Konnie had her babies, that she had to have a c-section and that she had 10 puppies that 5 died. I believed her, I expressed my understanding and tried to help her feel better about her loss as losing puppies is emotional. I kept in contact with her. I let her know about 5 to 10 days later which puppy I wanted. As it got close to the day we would be getting the puppy she aquired this "business partner" by the name of Sabrina Benson who is NOT welcomed in any respectable breeders circle. I was told that even back yard breeders/puppy mills won't even sell to her due to her history. I had her contact me 2 years ago trying to buy a sog from me and I denied her. When arangements were made to pick up the puppy this woman Sabrina tried to get myself and my business partner to sign an updated and CHANGED contract which was illegal. They then tried to refuse me the puppy but, after reminding her I could repossess both Konnie, her puppies which I only believed there were 5 alive, and rhat I could also demand the other puppy back at that point Misty agreed to hand over the puppy with his papers. Her "business partner" Sabrina tried to withhold his AKC papers which is illegal and AGAINST the AKC guidelines/rules and rights. I reminded Misty that if she did that she would have to return Konnie, her puppies and the other puppy. So , my business partner *Who is actually a true business partner* met them and the exchange was made. It was not until later that day or the day after that we found that we had been LIED to. We found all their ads. As of tonight 2/23/16 we will be contacting an attorney to see what legal options I have besides repossession which she is aware of and signed for. We are sharing this with you so that others are not duped like we were.
