I got charged US$99 after the free trial period. I did not authorize those charges and I didn't even use their service after a few days. I did not receive any notification e-mail that the trial period is almost over and they are going to charge me.  I feel tricked by their dishonest practice.

The most outrageous thing is the way they are hiding these charges. On the payment page, the only total amount that was shown is "FREE". Nowhere can any subscriber see the $99 recurring charges on the payment page! But after I got ripoff, I start looking closer and that is actually way way below on the home page and terms of service of the site, but NO WHERE on the payment page! That is an extremely dishonest way to conduct the business and is 100% set out to rip off people like myself!

In the affiliate agreement, it says:

D. CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES THAT ALL 1ShoppingCart FEES AND CHARGES ARE NONREFUNDABLE AND THAT 1ShoppingCart MAY CHANGE ANY FEE, RATE OR PLAN AT ANY TIME UPON NOTICE TO CUSTOMER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS AGREEMENT.

So when I change my status from FREE to $99 plan, there was not even one notification or anything!

So I did sent them a email requesting for refund and termination of service, but no reply! Customer service is practically inexisting. They won't even reply promptly on such important issue!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will certainly do that if I cannot reach any solution with 1shoppingcart.  Their mother company Web.com had reached me after I filed a report on BBB. Let's see how that works out.

Another thing I noticed about 1shoppingcart charges is "MONTHLY" plan are not actually monthly at all. They, in the very fine print, indicate that they charge by a 4 week cycle, which is every 28 days (7x4).

There are 52 weeks in a year. If I do the division 52 weeks/4 weeks, the result is 13. That means they are charging 13 times a year if the monthly option is purchased. I never realised that a year has 13 months! And this is quite contradicting. On the payment box it says monthly, then way way way way below on the fine print, it says "4 week cycle".

This is one of the worst business I ever deal with.

P.S Still getting no reply from billing of 1shoppingcart

File a dispute with your credit card company

AUTHOR: gavilan - ()

You gave them your credit card when you signed up? You're in luck. All credit card companies have a process in place where you can dispute charges like this one. They will investigate and if they determine that the charge was fraudulent or they are unable to contact the merchant, then they will credit it back to your account. The charge clearly was fraudulent, and the company seems unwilling to work with you as you have been unable to get any reply from them. Seems like a slam dunk if you dispute the charge.

Justification of dishonest practice

I don't think that putting charges on a link in the tinest font possible is an effort to

'made an attempt to be transparent and forthright'. I doubt if anyone would think that except from 1shoppingcart and other similar business. If that is the case, that should be stated, clearly, on your payment page, not in some terms of service in the middle of a mountain of words. The attempt to conduct a tricky business is clear here.

I would like a refund on those charges, as you say in your affliate agreement, there should be a notification when fee, rates or plan changes, in which I receive none. And my credit card got charged 2 days before the expiration day. And I will sent an email to terminate my account with you.
