I believe that I am a latest victim of AAAutoProtection/AA Auto Protection/AAAutoWarranty/AA Auto Warranty and Royal Administration Services, Inc. Shame on me for not finding this website before I was persuaded by a sweet-talking salesman from AAAutoProtection to buy what turned out to be an illusionary extended car warranty policy (which they now label as service contracts for not so obvious reasons).

I dont want to bore folks with lengthy details. Suffice is to say that I believe my valid repair claim was denied by Royal Administration wrongfully, arbitrarily, and against the manifest weight of evidence. My unfortunate encounter with AAAutoProtection and Royal Administration confirmed much of what other folks had previously complained of on this forum. For example, it appears to be true that overbroad and ambiguous terms in the contract give extended warranty companies virtually unfettered discretion to deny any claim on their whim leaving you with very little or no recourse. I guess they need to make their fortunes somehow. In my case, however, I experienced few very interesting twists.

After Royal Administration arbitrarily denied my claim, I looked into the possibility of starting an arbitration that their contract of adhesion binds you over and realized the process would be cumbersome and lengthy, if it was possible at all. I then stumbled upon RipOffReport.com and found out I was not alone in being taken for a ride by these extended warranty networks. It was rude awakening. I decided to immediately cancel my contract with them, demanded refund, which I waited some 25 days to receive (a nice interest-free loan for AAAutoProtection !!). But when my refund check finally came in the mail (lucky me), I discovered they RIPPED ME OFF AGAIN.

You see, our contract expressly states that upon cancellation the only charges could be imposed on me are for a prorated amount of time the policy was in effect and a $35 cancellation fee. Nothing else. And I've never agreed to anything outside of the contract. I therefore estimated that AAAutoProtection would charge me about $185 and expected the rest of my money (some $2,045) to be refunded. But despite my numerous inquiries about the amount of refund, both AAAutoProtection and Royal Administration kept me in the dark until the end, conveniently pointing fingers on each other.

And when my refund check from AAAutoProtection finally arrived, no statement of how they had calculated my refund was included. But along came the letter stating: Cashing Check Signifies that You Accept the Amount to be Full and Final Refund. Wow, what a sleazy trick, dont you agree? After demanding an explanation, I learned that AAAutoProtection had charged me not only the prorated amount but also nailed me with an additional fee of $150 instead of $35 out of the blue and contrary to our contract.

And so I asked AAAutoProtection who or what in the blue hell gave it any right to help itself with extra $115 out of my refund.

Now hear this !!  In nutshell, the response from Marc Kamin, an employee of AAAutoProtection, (if that was his even real name) came in as follows: WE COULD DO WHATEVER WE WANT. GO AHEAD AND GET A LAWYER OR COMPLAIN TO ATTORNEY GENERAL, BBB, etc. WE DON'T GIVE A CRAP.

But it didn't stop there. When I informed Marc Kamin about my intention to post my grievances on RipOffReport.com, he beat me to it !! The very next day Kamin (or his cronies perhaps) created a fake account on RipOffReport.com pretending to be me and posted some ridiculous ranting of a madman. Marc Kamin, you need to learn proper grammar and punctuation if you wish to play me, you pathetic little coward.

But I suppose Lord Kamin was not kidding. AAAutoProtection is indeed seems to think of itself as a bunch of self-proclaimed Gods who can do anything !!

I should probably consider myself lucky that I was ripped off by AAAutoProtection with Royal Administration for only about $300, for it could have been worse. No excuse for my ignorance of not doing due diligence on them before giving them my money. However, I hope that news of my misfortune CAN SAVE OTHER FOLKS from grief of being taken advantage of by this, WHICH I NOW FIRMLY BELIEVE, shady network of white-collar schemers.

P.S.
If for any reason AAAutoProtection and Royal Administration wish to challenge my allegations in this report, I here publicly invite them both to waive their contractual rights of binding arbitration and submit to jurisdiction of Ohio courts, so we could resolve our dispute by an impartial jury. So how about that, Marc Kamin?

Glad For you!!

AUTHOR: Ms. Divadee - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, November 15, 2010

I am glad for you, because I am also a victim of one of AAA's Approved Automobile Repair shop that has ripped me off of my money for repairs that they never did on my car. What is wrong with these companies when they feel as if they can rip you off of your money? This is so unethical and unacceptable. More consumers need to take a stand against these types of business practices because if it was not for the consumer, these businesses would be out of business. So they really need to think about how they are treating they're customers.

File a lawsuit against AA Auto

AUTHOR: vadsky - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, November 15, 2010

I don't know what to think of this post, all together. I won't be shocked if Kamin or any of AA Auto employees are involved. Actually I don't doubt it. Just file a lawsuit against AA Auto for your damages, if you are one of many AA Auto victims. Go to a local court where you reside. The process is not that difficult. You can represent yourself and you don't need a lawyer. Chances are AA Auto will have to settle with you out of court, as fighting you in the court will cost them much more money.

Dispute Resolved

AUTHOR: Fight Back - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, November 15, 2010

I am happy to report that my dispute with AA Auto Protection has been resolved. Since my earlier posting, I reached out to them with proposition to end our squabble and settle, to which Marc Kamin promptly responded. We finally had a civilized conversation by not dwelling on the past but rather amicably discussing possible resolutions. We have agreed to a settlement that meets my needs.

Although this whole incident was regrettable and probably preventable, the credit must be given when its due. I must say that at the end AA Auto Protection acted promptly and professionally, and that allowed us to resolve the situation satisfactorily to both parties.  Thank you, RipOffReport.com, for providing this invaluable forum for consumers and businesses alike.

Sleazy

AUTHOR: Fight Back - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 09, 2010

Would any professional manager of any reputable company be willing to cross ethical boundaries and start using fake accounts, impersonating somebody and spreading lies just to save $115 ?! Would you?

Kamin (or whatever his real name is) from AAAutoProtection learned that I was about to post my complaint against them on ROR and probably decided to beat me on that. He (or someone under his directive) created a fake new account on ROR with username A.D. (which happened to be my initials) and by impersonating me posted 2 identical comments under someone elses report, to make it look as if comments came from me. See Report #546602 comments #11 and 12.

On the face, these fake ramblings look like a real complaint from an aggrieved consumer describing an incident (which happened to be mine!). But the faker has twisted facts from inside out and added lies with embellishments, so that you read and you may think the person complaining is irrational, misguided or even nuts. Works for AAAutoProtection !! How do I know it was Kamin or his gang who posted these fakes? Only AAAutoProtection knew of our incident.

Sleazy but ingenious, dont you think?

But hey, if we had Enron and Bernard Madoff, nothing surprises me anymore.

Helpful Hints

You obviously feel like you have a problem, but it sounds like you got most of what you wanted. And just some hints if you're a newbie on the site, name calling looks childish and saying that people are pretending to be you on ROR doesn't really help you....
