Acti-Kare Cleveland tn Acti-Kare East Chattanooga Immediate dismissal of care of my intellectually handicapped 16yo son Clevland Tennessee

 My intellectually disabled son was being cared for by this Franchise for a short period of time. We had an in home interview to ask questions and direct concerns on both sides. The Company met my son and assured us that they could care for him after school, and that care would be delivered and was only ever removed in extreme circumstances. We also asked if we could cancel if needed due to our own personal sick days or his. Yes, they said as long as we called in the am to inform them, which we did. The caregiver never mentioned any issue with my son when I asked her daily how he behaved. She always had a good report for me. Unexpectedly I received a call from the owner to tell me that they were pulling care. No backup caregiver, no warning, no opportunity for resolution. Reason given by the owner:" Your son scared the caregiver by wearing a head light lamp and turning off the lights." " He also asked the caregiver for a kiss and it was not in a platonic nature." Then she went on to say " You have called to cancel and the caregiver could have worked those hours elsewhere." My son ask for hugs and kisses all the time. That's part of who he is. Part of the nature of intellectually disabled is that they are very affectionate. He doesn't understand sexuality nor does he have a concept that he offended her. Also, I did cancel at times. Always with a call or text in the morning like they requested. Owner also said they don't normally take care of kids. Yet they agreed initially and it's on their website. I went with this company to have peace of mind. Didn't happen . Then they accused my son of non platonic in nature affections. He can't read or write and has an IQ in the 70s. He can write his first name. Does this sound like a threat to anyone? To me they didn't want to deal with him because he's disabled. They dismissed him out of ignorance and for behavior associated with his disability. He was never violent or verbally abusive. He still has no idea why they dumped him and he's confused. He doesn't have the ability to understand why mom is so upset.
