Advanced Windoware Stephen L. Mean STOLE from us by taking a deposit for Shutters $3,200 with no intention of delivering. Phone and website no longer in service. Castle Rock, Colorado

Stephen Means came to our house gave us a quote for plantation shutters.  He came across as credible and resulted in us giving him a $3,200 deposit.  He promised a 6-8 week delivery.  It has been 6 weeks and I tried to follow up on my order and his phone has been disconnected and he vacated his place of business.

Upon further research, it appears that foreclosure is in process on his Castle Rock home.  In addition, contact was made with a former employee who states that he has been working this scam for several months.  Former employee stated "Stephen Means thinks that he will file bankruptcy and all of his fraud will be taken care of through bankruptcy."  He is intentionally stealing from people pretending to take an order only to take the a deposit.  My cancelled check reflects that he deposited in the bank the same day I wrote it.

At this point he is working under fraudulent pretenses and I am seeing several other complaints on the internet.
