My daughter had a accident in a private property drive thru while learning driving this happened 03 31 2021 my car seems to have the worse damage. Come to find out my insurance lapsed months and months later I get a letter in mail from afni saying I owe 13,400 wondering if this is ligit.

You left out any sort of details.
Was this an accident with another car? A building?
What were the damages? Was a police report filed?
There should have at least have been some communication with either the other party or their insurance company. Were you ever contacted by any insurance company asking for payment?
You say that your car received more damage, but what about the other property? Did you expect that their insurance company would just take care of it?
