alliance one (a/1) obtained a $43.00 judgment against me without any service of process, despite having actual knowledge of my location  and home address. a /1 then obtained a writ of garnishment over my bank account for over $600.00 by adding so-called costs and $344.00 in interest for a twenty day period (roughly eight times the amount of the judgment), but estimating interest for the following twenty day period at 0.01 per day (0.20 total). The writ was served upon me on 10-9-12 even though it was dated 9-12-12, giving me one day to comply with the twenty eight day response requirement for filing for an exemption (such as social security disability). That same day I claimed the funds in my account as 100% exempt since my only source of funds was indeed social security disability, a fact known to a/1 for over one year. A/1 had such knowledge because the whole thing started following my failure to pay a $100.00 fine for a defective vehicle license plate light. Once the court assigned the matter to a/1 the amount somehow jumped to approximately $2500.00 and during the course of the previous year i had made $200.00 monthly payments until the unpaid balance owed was, you guessed it, $43.00. According to a/1 i failed to pay it and i assume this was the basis for the lawsuit they filed against me. I of course disagree. I have placed a/1 at the top of my list, preceded only by my faith. I am virtualoloy certain these actions are part of a pattern of practice showing an utter disregard for law, ethics, and decency.

Judgements

I used to work for this company. I can tell you that you do not need to be served papers when the debt is for a ticket. When the officer handed you that ticket you were served. Any ticket is an automatic judgement granted.

It sounds like this was just a remaining balance due to the court. I have seen of many cases where the person owing the money contacted the courts, told them the situation and the court has the right to pullback from collections and back up any fees. Its worth a try ...
