In May of 2014 our restaurant was contacted by Jason Ely, Apartment Sepcialist, about advertising on a refridgerator magnet for a local apartment complex. I am always skeptical of solicitation calls from out-of-state for obvious reasons. And we get more than 10 ecery day! Mr. Ely gave me his spiel claiming that the apartment complex pointed him in our direction. I told him I would call him back with our decision so that I could confirm what I had been told.

I called the apartment complex and the property manager confirmed that Mr. Ely did contact them about the magnets and they referred him to us. In hindsight, If we had done a bit more research I would not be writing this report. One look at their pitiful website would have been all I needed to see to pass on the "opportunity." If they are so ineffective at marketing their own company, we would never trust them to advertise ours. But, unfortunately, we proceeded with the magnet ads, for which we were charged $460 for the ad and an additional $10 for the sample we were to receive(!?) and "shipping."

We were told the apartment complex would receive the magnets in September and we would receive our sample at the same time. When we did not receive our sample by October, I called the apartment complex and was informed that they had not yet received the magnets or have they been contacted again since the initial call in May. I sent Mr. Ely and email to which he did not respond. 7 months removed from my first conversation with Mr. Ely, and after several emails and phone calls, no response, no magnets and no refund. Stay away from this company. I am sure ripping off businesses from coast to coast is their standard operating procedure. I plan to take further action against Amerian Advertising Concepts and will update this report with future developments.

Been there

I too was fooled by Jason Ely and Anna Kelly.  After promises for the product and a promised refund from Anna Kelly the magnets appeared with 3 ads on them, 4 months after the order date.  Anna Kelly had a multitude of excuses for not being able to reply and then agreed to a 30% refund.  She then stated that she had to run it through Customer Service and the next day told me that Customer Service had denied the refund.  Anna Kelly is the head of Customer Service!

After giving up on ever seeing anything I stumbled across a rebuttal 2 years after the initial contact and the rebuttal says I was paid the refund.  That never happened.  I have just filed paperwork with my local Small Claims Division to have these 2 served.  I know they will not show up in court, they are cowards.

Visit the new Facebook page, American Advertising Concepts - AAC are thieves and liars, and share your experiences to help expose this fraud of a company. The ultimate purpose of the website is to bring financial restitution to those who had funds stolen by American Advertising Concepts for services never rendered and hopefully put these disgusting, miserable people out of business.

We need your help to expose AAC for the crooks and liars that they are and bring justice to the victims.

Promises, promises

AUTHOR: Delaware Business Owner - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, December 03, 2014

On Thursday, December 11th I was contacted by a female representative, who's name I believe was Jessica. She proceeded to tell me how serious AAC takes these matters and she was going to get to the bottom of what went wrong and so what she could to me it right. Well, apparently that wasn't much she could do as I have not heard from her since she called 1 month ago. During our conversation, she informed me that the magnets were actually made and they were scheduled to ship to the apartment development with our sample being sent directly to us. Just as expected, neither party ever received any of the promised materials. I told the young lady that I would temporarily cease my efforts to warn the public to stay away from AAC until they had a chance rectify the situation. Time is up. Actually, it has been up for months. This is the 1st of many warnings I plan to write across the 'net. Folks, heed my warning. This company's only specialty is the art of the scam. I have already been in touch with a lawyer and, if you are in a similar situation, I advise you to do that same. Do not give them a 2nd chance. Better yet, don't give them a 1st chance.
