We rented a 20' trailer from these folks.  We paid about $1700.00 for two weeks.  you would think that their intruction and the condition of the trailer would be impeccable for this price.  Not even close.  The refrigerator did not work properly when on battery.  This means on the road and not plugged into 110 outlet.  Wer were told that the fridge switched over automatically from 110 to battery when traveling, not so.  Unfortunately we did not discover this until after we had to throw out most of the food in the fridge.  Also, the latch for the fridge door did not work.  So, once again we had to throw out food after discovering this.  We had to prop something against the door while traveling so it would not open.  Blinds over bed were mangled.  We did see this when we rented it.  We just did not realize people could look in the window.  So, you had to be aware what you were doing and wearing while in the trailer.  The mattress was hard as a rock or close.  We bought an air matress to take care of this.  Maybe most trailer beds are like this.  We put a claim in for the food but never heard back from the company.  Sort of what I expected from them.  Needless to say we will never rent from these folks again.  If you do make sure you go over everything with them before you leave.  They will tell you if you have an issue call and they will take care of it.  However, if you do have an issue do you really want to be hold up somewhere for a day or so.  Also, they probably won't refund any part of your fee.

Response from American Dream Vacation

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 13, 2016

I receieved a reply by mail from American Dream Vacation.  I have attached the letter to this report.  Just a few comments about the response.

The issue with the refridgerator door opening was not resolved.  They say that it passed inspection.  The snap strap on the door did snap on.  However, it was so loose that it would come off and the door would open.  So, they continued to rent it without fixing it.

Their solution to the hole in the wate line was to implement a new process of baqgging the hose and putting it in tupperware container to protect it.  Well, I hate to tell them this but when we got the trailer the process was already in place and the waste hose was in a bag in a tupperware container.  So, this means that hole in the hose was there when they gave it to us since it leaked the first time I hooked it up.

Also, they say that the issue with the refridgerator operation might have been a miss communication.  My wife and I were both there when he said that the refridgerator switched over from 12v to 110v automatically.  We both heard it.  Also the salesman said that he was fairly new on the job.  I will let you decide if there was bad communication or he did not know.

Finally, American Dream did refund 86.90 and gave us a $150 coupon off towards our next rental.  I do appreciate they did this.  I just find it amazing that I had to go through all of this trouble to post this to get a proper response from them.  The refund more than paid for the spoiled food.  All in all you the customer should still verify all is good with a rental before you take it.  Don't think that all will be perfect and you don't need to check for yourself.

In the end you the customer needs to make up your own mind about this whole experience.  Good travels and good luck.

Regards,

Gerry

Mr. Davidson,

I appreciate your business and feedback. First allow me to apolagize for the issues you expereinced. It is our hope that all customers come and go with nothing but fun along the way. Unfourtunately, as with all things mechanical, this cannot always be the case.

As I have expressed to you in a private email, we never recieved back the riembursement request form Brian, the rental agent that assisted you at check-in, emailed over that afternoon. I have no doubts you sent it in, but for whatever the reason it was never recieved.

If you would please send it directly to kurt@americandreamvacations.NET, I assure you that you will recieve a written response with ten busienss days. I do not want you to feel ignored.

As we do not own the vehciles we lease out, we are contactually obligated to have this document on file for any type of riembursement to be considered.

Warmest Regards,

Kurt West
