The following is my experience in dealing with the Website autographlivemagazine.com. This site continues to attack ebay sellers who sell autographs. They say they "expose" fake autographs of all sorts, espeially Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, and Joe Dimaggio. According to this site, Gai, GFA, Drew Max, Chris Morales, My Favorite Players, and a slew of other, smaller authenticators, are authenticating forgeries. They pull sellers photos right off ebay, without permission.
There favorite hitman Chris Williams from NJ, is the modt notorious at this. He has no scrupols, and no proof that these others are authenticating forgeries. Just his opinion, and because he has the powerful voice on autographlive magazine, he has damaged the reputation of many honest sellers. As anyone knows autograph authentication, is a third party opinion.
As I have come to find out, Steve Cyrkin, the founder of this site, is one of the largest stock holders in PSA/dNA. Does it not beg the question that he would have a invested interest in keeping smaller authenticators off the market. The less competition, the more business for PSA. The more business for PSA, the more money Steve Cyrkin makes.
In short mistakes are made by authenticators of all stripes, even by PSA/DNA and also JSA. So if you sold an autograph on Ebay, not authenticated by PSA or JSA, good chance you will make this site, with your Ebay photos, and your username being pasted all over the internet as selling forgeries, when merely, it is just their opinion. I do wonder about the motives of Autographlivemagazine. Is it to protect the hobby as they say, or is it to keep smaller authenticators of the market, in order to have monopoly and make money for PSA.
