I do not expect them to rectify their wrong considering they run a deceitful practice. The sales manager, Ed Moreno, sold me a car and I was happy to get financing, thinking I was investing in a vehicle that is known for quality and longevity. (Toyota Corolla) My experience with this sales manager is like all the rest of the complaints on BBB and RipOff.com.

I financed a 3 year old Corolla through BH Cars and after a year or two of driving it, I received a letter from a Toyota dealership offering me a trade value of around $8,000. I know these are tools to lure you in and then low ball you but I was not expecting what happened to me next.

I went to the Toyota dealership on Sample Rd. and they ran the VIN and did an appraisal to value my trade in. The salesman returned with a printed CARFAX report showing that my car was in 2 to 3 major accidents and as a result ended up with a rebuilt or salvaged title. He then said due to these findings my car no longer qualified to be a trade in at ANY Toyota dealership.

I was and still am highly upset. Ed comes accross as someone who knows what he is doing and is very cocky...so there is no doubt in my mind that he did not know about the accidents.

I know now that I was a target and made a poor decision. It was my first time financing a car and should have known something was up when he had my drive a loaner for a month while they checked out some issue that I pointed out during the test drive. They also had me tell the cops that I was test driving the loaner in the event I got pulled over driving it for that month..(the loaner car had dealer tags and I was not on the insurance or paperwork)

Stay away! To this day...5 years later...(I bought this in 2009)..no one will take my 2006 Corolla S model as a trade in. If I buy a new car I have to just decide to junk or donate my car I spent $20,000.00 on. I wish Brad Horowitz would read these complaints and really assess what his business means to the people he services. He was very pleasant everytime I visited and would like to think he and his wife are concerned about the way his staff represents their hard work and good name. Until then, Jesus will continue to hold my car together and get me and my kids safely from point A to point B.

I have to say when I reported this to the BBB Ed contacted me to say I could return the car...pay another down payment for a different car..and then start new financing on the new car. Why would I want to return the car I paid $3,000.00 down for and then pay another down payment of $3,000.00? Not to mention I don't trust that I am not going to get scammed again. He refused to transfer the down payment for me if I returned the Corolla and chose another car.

I hope this truthful account helps someone. Thanks.

Some Advice...

First, if the car has a Florida title, you can always check the status of that title for brands or mileage discrepencies here:

https://services.flhsmv.gov/MVCheckWeb/

Second, if your Corolla actually has a title that has been BRANDED AS SALVAGE OR REBUILT and this was NOT disclosed to you IN WRITING at time of sale, you should contact Florida Dept of Hwy Safety and Motor Vehicles and as to have a DMV compliance officer assist you in filing a formal complaint, which may motive this dealer to find a way of resolving this in a satisfactory manner.

It is not illegal or against any regulation to sell a branded-titled car as long as it is properly disclosed in writing. Go review your original purchase documents and make sure this wasn't written or typed in and you just overlooked it.
