I own a retail store and have been selling on eBay and Bonanza (formerly called Bonanzle) for close to 10 years.  Recently, Bonanza was given some venture capital and suddenly they don't care about their sellers.

Today, after I spent the entire week tweaking a database to upload to one of my Bonanza stores, Bonanza suddenly decided to close ALL of my stores because, according to them, my computer is associated with an account that has violated their terms of use.  And just like that, two stores destroyed.  No warning. No questions. No response from support. No contact information for my customers. No refunds. My entire online business is gone.

In the past, Bonanzle had prided itself for being seller friendly and, with the help of the Bonanzle seller community, lured many sellers away from eBay who were unhappy with eBay's seller unfriendly environment.  Congratulations to the new owners, looks like they are paving the way to poor seller service - just like eBay.

Sellers Beware: Based on Bonanza's actions, they are a poor business partner.  If you build a store (booth), Bonanza can destroy it at any time for any reason and have proven that they will do so without warning or provocation.

Investors Beware: Bonanza's reputation was built on their service to sellers.  Without this service, we sellers will be moving elsewhere to sell and Bonanza is now a risky investment.  It is painfully obvious that the current owners of this company do not know their clients.

Bonanza Responds With A Lie: Claiming I Was Selling Stun Guns?

AUTHOR: Crystalinme - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, January 13, 2012

Here is the email I received from Bonanza today in response to my message to them indicating that I have created this rip off report.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We did notify you numerous times to not list stun guns.  You continued to do so, that is why your accounts were suspended.  If need be, we will be sure to reply to your report to the aforementioned site (ripoffreport.com) with screen shots of all of that communication as well as a link to our prohibited items list that we continued to send to you.  If you have any  further questions, please see our terms of service, which provide complete details about our user policies, including our right to suspend  an account at any time.
If you are interested in moving to another marketplace, we recommend ioffer.com or ecrater.com, both of which have strong monthly traffic and a good base of buyers and sellers. eBid.net is a good site for those who wish to deal in the auction format.
Since I am a volunteer webmaster and Staff Officer for the USCG, first I would never put my Homeland Security Clearance in jeopardy AND I save every piece of correspondence I receive.  I searched my gmail account and found no messages from Bonanza.com (or anyone else) that included the words 'stun gun'.  I also reviewed all emails received from Bonanza.com and Bonanzle.com since I joined in 2009.  I found no warnings that I was selling prohibited items.
I did search the excel data file that I had uploaded just minutes prior to my accounts being closed and could not find 'stun gun'.  I did, however, find some items with the word 'gun' in the Video Gaming category with the following title:
Pistol Shooting Gun Controller for PlayStation PS3 Move Shooting Games (Black)
Perhaps Bonanza.com has an automatic system to flag certain words and instead of someone actually reading the item title and sending me a message as they claim they did, someone just automatically assumed that I was selling guns and reacted prematurely.
Mark Dorsey, the person who contacted me from Bonanza.com, told me that he could provide me with evidence of my prohibited behavior.  I am still waiting for this information though it could be easily manufactured by anyone with the right tools.  And given the research I have already done and Bonanza's obvious inability to keep proper records and/or tell the truth, any 'evidence' they bring forward has no credibility.
