I made an appointment for a tuesday to have the front rear of my F-250 checked and to have them check the transmission as I thought it was shifting hard. They contacted me on thursday to let me know they couldn't find a problem with the way it shifted and the lock out hubs were not working in the front rear. I ask them to put a new set of hubs on ($200 at Hoaks 4wd) and change the transmission filter and fluid.

 The following wednesday I called at 4:00 p.m. and ask when I would get my truck back and they told me it would be done a couple minutes after 5 and that they would call me when it was finished. About 6:20 they finaly called and said it was done I said I would be right up to pick it up. The kid told me I couldn't do that because there was noone there to figure up the bill. I was upset by this time and raised my voice and said some things that made this poor little kid upset so he called his daddy (the owner) and they gave me a ration of crap over picking my truck up. Now I am confused as to there train of thought here, if a customer is not going to be able to pick his vehicle up why would it matter if it was done or why would you call and say your truck is done but you can't have it. How childish is that sort of mentality. 

So long story short after all but having to beg to get my own truck back before I paid the bill I was allowed to use it. The next afternoon my wife stoped and paid the bill, $871 for at the most 3 hours work that took 7 days to get completed. Highway robbery, Merry Christmas to you. And when I got in my truck the smell of automatic transmission fluid was so strong I had to open my window and I am not taking it back for them to correct that. The owner defends his business saying he has never been sued and thats because noone can afford a lawyer after they deal with them. To the owner I say you better hope you can keep your child working for you because in the real world he will never make it.

sir the way you handled this situation is very childish first you came to us beacuse you tryed to fix this problem yourself and f**ked up so the 500 bucks in parts was already your wasted money automotive shops have labor rates its how mechanics are paid but you get assured the job is done right which not one did i hear you complain about the job itself so they (we) fixed your issue which you yourself could not fix even stayed late to finish the job so that we could assure it was done right the smell is the burn off of the exhaust which we use mats and we use covers so to say that we f'ed up your interior man up your the child here

yep....two negatives.....you and another person we never worked on their car.  We had their car for a few days and did not get to it as we were short handed as happens in a small business when things happen like sickness, vacation, etc.  Either way with us doing over 15 major jobs each and every week since Ive owned the shop in Sept 1996 to have two complaints one from a guy we never did work for and one a guy who has been proven to be a jerk is not bad if you ask me. 

Ill do the simple math for you.....thats over 12500 major jobs with 2 online complaints....Ill take that report!!!!

Buyers Remorse and a Big Jerk!

First of all let me say we are a very busy shop and we are a first come first served shop.  The fact that this truck was dropped off and took whatever time it took is not as it is reported.  First, there were several vehicles in front of this one as we only have 3 lifts when we diagnosed and finally heard back from the customer of his approval to do the job we ordered the parts and when they came in we picked them up from the supplier.  This took several days.  Then when the parts came we had to wait for a lift to open as most of the work we do disables the lift when we take the transmission out of it.

When we got a lift open we did the job and also the customer asked to have his transmission serviced.  We did all the work and at the going professional shop rate.  Yes a person doing the work themselves can do it much cheaper but the customer asked and approved us to do the work.  Sounds like buyers remorse of which I cant stop.

Now about the ugliness of this guys soul.  First he never once till the day we had the truck done mentioned the great need of use of his truck.  Not that it would have mattered but we would have told him we could not do the job that quick and the reasons why.  Second I was not at the shop at all for most of that period of time as I was being tested and finally diagnosed with Lukemia.  He cursed my son out of which there is never a reason a person should do this.  I called him and explained that I was not there to do the bill and was in the hospital and would let him take the truck and do his bill later.  He was uncaring, cursed me out and continued to act as if he were drunk or the biggest uncaring person on the planet. 

As far as the smell of ATF.  The smell was from outside the truck as when fluid is drained it does coat the crosssmember and sometimes part of the exhaust.  We spray both areas down with non-chlorinated brake clean but it takes some time for the smell to go away and burn off.  We never raised our voice back to this man and asked him to not swear at us and again explained our position and me not being there and I gave him an opportunity to apologize of which he took to say he didnt care and continued to curse at me. 

What he didnt say is that he did this same job himself and it failed.  He created this problem and we fixed it.  He thought he had a transmission issue of which we did not confirm.  A lot of shops would use his own diagnosis and recommend rebuilding the transmission.  We did the job he asked for and did it well.  Ive learned in this business the ones who complain the most have the least to stand on for that complaint and those that have legitimate complaints usually handle them like gentlement.  This man refused to do either and it only looks bad for him as my shops reputation is secured in the community as not perfect but always trying to do whats right.  That is why we are still here and many of our competitors have closed in the last several years.

Ken go to google and type in Broadway Transmission and click on the first paragraph that says 2 google reviews and then tell the people how smart you are. This is my last comment to you little boy as you have proved to everyone you don't want to rebuttal anything to do with your service or billing so that tells us how intellagent you realy are and what kind of service to expect from your business. Its been fun and its far from over.

I feel you must be trying to evade the facts by calling me names and trying to justify someones mistakes. As far as pictures my camera does not photograph smells. The automatic transmission fluid is all over the mechanics clothing and they do not use a seat cover as most profesional mechanics would but after dealing with this company you will totally understand their short fall. Yes I lost my temper but had the poor little boy talked to his father and got permission to let me take the truck before calling me and telling me the truck was done that would not have happened. I use my truck every day to carry the things I need and going 7 days without it for a 3 hour job is not an option. So I appoligize if I hurt baby boys feelings but to charge $871 for that work is not acceptable and I will pay that much again to cost you all the business I can. Then you will see how big a Jerk you have created. As for the mechanic working late I totaly understand why when it takes 7 days to do 3 hours work. Looking at the reviews of this business at various web sites I have yet to see one good review, yes understandably.   Ray

after the office staff got off.

They called to let you know it was ready, but the paperwork wasn't done yet.  I don't see how that warranted the B.S you used on a "poor little kid." You must be a real jerk.

BTW, how about providing photos of the interior to show  the destruction to it?
