BRUCE HANDYMAN SERVICE Horrible service, refusal to refund half of payment West Palm Beach, Florida

We hired this "company" to perform the following services: outside pressure cleaning (sidewalks, pool deck), repaint pool deck, and repair inside hallway tile and grouting.  His original quote was $550, but after the job was performed we told him that we would pay $400 IF the work was satisfactory.  Unfortunately we paid him $400, after which we noticed what an extremely poor job he and his "assistant" did on the hallway tile and grouting.  It appeared that his assistant had never done this kind of work before.  I called him the day after I paid him the check and he has had one excuse after another---including the fact that he SAID he had to rush to New York because his son was in an automobile accident.  He said he would call me back the following week.  I have since called him several times, and sent him text messages asking for a $200 refund.  At first he made up one excuse after another, then finally hung up on me the last two times I called, including yesterday.  We would NEVER again call this company, which claimed to have several employees, and instead was an elderly gentleman and an extrmely incompetent assistant. 

His assistant aimed his pressure cleaning hose, using full pressure at the screens around our pool, and we had to tell him how five of the screens were new and a pressure cleaner could only be used with a GENTLE SPRAY rather than full pressure which could loosen or pull apart the screens.   When his assistant used the pressure cleaner on the front lawn he aimed at the entrance way to the house, creating a flood and a mess at the entrance to the house.  AND, whatever chemicals he used on either pool deck or hallway tiling, has killed about a four foot section of my grass, and it has not grown back.  It's hard for me to believe that ANYONE would ever hire this company.  We will never again, and will also never recommend this man and his "company" to any of our many friends.  

I would like him to send me a check in the amount of $200 as a refund for extremely poor service.  My address is: (((REDACTED)))
