Ok..thing is..have been paying 30% of my paycheck for years..so does it make sense t o you to take away away my drivers license  and professional license ? I will not be able to go to work and so I will have to go on welfare and the state can pay me?   PLease do not respond to this rebuttal..you must work for the state..

I don't agree with much of what our whacked out State does, but this I think is a great idea.

California has a law that the top 500 delinquent tax debts can have their Drivers or other professional licenses suspended for failing to pay your taxes.  So with the fact that you admitted you had back taxes and you are having your license suspended it is likely that you are one of these 500 people.

https://www.ftb.ca.gov/aboutFTB/Delinquent_Taxpayers.shtml

Now, I can't say I found you for sure on the list, so I won't post your full name.  But based on things such as  your City and name I think you are there.  If that is the case you have had since 2009 to pay over 221K in back taxes.  And I say it is about time the State caught up to you.  As there are thousands of other people who have to care for sick relatives who manage to pay their taxes.

But I am really wondering why you care if your DL is suspended.  After all it is against the law to not pay your taxes and you seem to have no problem with that.  Why would you all of the sudden become "law abiding" when it comes to driving?

Now, I will give one caviat.  If by chance you are not on this list and you are totally current on your taxes, then this is a case of Mistaken Identity and you probably should consult an attorney.  Or perhaps even one of the local news stations.
