Bought a 79 Corvette end of Jan 2019.  When I test drove the car  told the owner I smelled burning oil.  He said no it was paint residue.  When I got the car home, the next day, driveway full of oil stains under the car.  Brought the car back and it took them 3 visits and total of six weeks to repair the oil leak.

Days after I picked it up the engine was making a loud metal grinding sound.  I called them back when I was stranded far from home.  Secretary said you have no warranty and we wil charge you $150 per hr to diagnose and fix whatever is wrong.  I consulted another mechanic who strongly suggested that the oil pan was not reinstalled properly and this was probably the cause of the noise.

What was so dissappointing was when I showed up at the dealer with a certified check for the purchase, they were all smiles.  But when it came to getting the car right so I could actually drve it, they couldnt be bothered.  They left me with the feeling that they only sell the cars and when they do, your'e on your own.  My dream car purchase at 63 yrs old has been a nightmare due to this dealer not caring about customer satisfaction.  I would avoid this classic car dealer.

You People Will Throw Common Sense Out The Window All For A Stupid Car!

AUTHOR: The Dog - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 10, 2019

YOUR KNEW the car was burning oil. YOUR diagnosis was correct, and you know that! How important is oil and the correct lubrication of the engine? Do you kind of think that's important? Anybody with half a brain who noticed there is an oil burning problem knows there may also be more serious problems with lubrication and quite possibly existing engine damage, but not you!

Your tongue was hanging out so far for this dumb, stupid car which you just had to have that you threw COMMON SENSE out the window! Don't write back talking about how "trust" is so honorable as an excuse for your failure. You can only trust somebody who's track record with you shows trustworthiness!

Everybody knows the SLEAZY games which go on in the car business and how each one of us needs to use COMMON SENSE and be a smart consumer. However, in all too many cases, because of a dumb, stupid car, far too many people just can't wait to play the role of doormat and sucker!
