We purchased a new 2015 Terrain on 7/14/2015 and paid 40,000.00 at Coral Springs GMC at Coral Springs Auto Mall in Coral Springs FL. We traded in a 1 year old car and the salesman told us he couldn't give us what the car was really worth for a trade in since it was new. He offered us a service contract that was almost $3000.00 off the origional price and the allowance for the trade in to get us to buy the new Terrain. He also said we would get a 250.00 gmc preferred customer program card that we could use for parts and accessories. So we paid by check in full for the Terrain and left with 2 contracts for the service warranties and a card for 250.00 for accessories. 2 months later we got a letter in the mail showing we were set up on payments for the warranties for 150.00 per month. We called the Dealership and tried to get someone to talk to us. No one would return our calls and when one person finally did they started cursing us out when we tried to explain that someone at their dealership created a fraud contract showing we took out a 3000.00 warranty. We explained we had warranty contracts showing paid in full by Coral Springs GMC on our Terrain. They just hung up.

We went to the police and filed a police report, contacted the DMV, and even contacted GMC CORP. and no one would do anything about the fraud contract. The police told us it was a great civil case and the DMV said they couldn't do anything. We contacted a fraud laywer and he wouldn't take it because he couldn't make enough money on the case and we should take it to small claims court and the media. GMC CORP said they would try to work it out with the dealership but they didn't do anything but have me go to the Dealership and talk to the sales manager. When we got there to talk to the sales manager he turned us over the the person that forged the fraud contract and he even admitted it. He said I have your siginature on file. Which he didn't other than our siginature on the sales contract and the warranties we got at the time of the sale included already. The salesman and the sales manager lied to us to get us to buy the Terrain then turned around and charged us for a warranty that should have been included. We have the origional contracts with our siginatures and Coral Springs GMC siginature paid in full by them. Then they created a fraud contract to make us pay for the service warranties that was to be taken off the origional price of the Terrain. GMC CORP said they couldn't do anything to make them honor the contract. The customer service lady that was helping on our case even told me see seen what was going on yet GMC CORP couldn't do anything to the dealership.

GMC has lost my business forever. If a company can't make their dealerships honor contracts that are in writing then there is a real problem with GMC. Coral Springs GMC didn't even honor the preferred customer program for the 250.00 on the accessories I ordered and tried to pick up at the parts counter. When they found out it was us they denied the card. I asked to speak to the manager and he wouldn't come and speak to me. They told me he was busy. We did everything honest and we even went through the proper channels to get this taken care of without going to the media and court, but I quess now that is our only option. It is sad when you spend that kind of money and don't get what you pay for. I was told to stay away from this dealership by several people. I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED.

Thanks for the information Florida Native. I just contacted the FTC on the false advertising and several attorneys if they call me back of the GMC Preferred Owner Program they won't honor. They did settle my warranty issue just waiting for the rest of the money from them. Took me almost 1 year to settle this one.  I will probably have to fight for it too.

Two potential solutions for you

First, report the entire transaction to the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau).  This will get the dealerships attention. The CFPB has the ability to levy fines against the dealer. Do some research on the CFPB and you will see that it works quickly to resolve complaints.

One more thing, sue the individual sales representative in small claims court for the fraud that he perpetuated on you. You don't need an attorney to do that and you will receive a refund and potentially damages. If he has no assets, you get a judgment against him for 20 years that you can renew if unpaid in 20 years.  This will stop the sales rep from moving forward in life financially.

Last thing: thank you for posting. I will be in the market for a new vehicle in the next six months and I live very close to this dealership. Based on your post, I wouldn't think of shopping there now.
