cricket phone co my daughter went to them and got a phone with the reassurance that she could keep her current number and when that was NOT what she was told when trying to take it back and try to get money back got a council bluffs, Iowa

My daughter is currently trying to make ends meet for herself and her three young children. She went to the Council Bluffs office of Cricket to sign up and all she really needed was to have her phone keep its phone number so her young children did not have to try to learn a new number and could always get ahold of her. She was told,"yes of course you can keep your old number but you will have to call from your phone after you get home to change the number to your current number...".

She did so and was told since her home is not currently a location that Cricket has phone service she could NOT keep her number after all. She promptly turned off her Cricket phone and today, 13 days later, made the 90 mile trip to cancel it all and get her money back. It turns out that she could only get $35 of the over $100 she paid in to start the service.

I think this is a royal rip off since the only call made on the phone was to Cricket and she was mistakenly told her phone would let her keep her old number and feel that the only reasonable thing she should have maybe paid was the $15 equipment fee and nothing else! Everything I read on the web site says things CAN be changed within 30 days and it is ridiculous that she did not get her money back after only 13 days so I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!!!
