Not knowing all the circumstances of the last body shop managers departure, I can say that he is sorely missed right now. The new body shop manager (i wont say his name), is despised by all who work in the body shop. He makes rediculous demands which cannot be met and when they are not, pitches a temper tantrum. (at least those are the words that were told to me). I did ask, 'are you serious? A real tantrum?' and the person said "yes, full on, jumping up and down, flinging arms with hands fisted."

For the past couple of months there has been talk about some of the shop employees going to the higher ups, to talk to them about problems with the manager, but this hasn't taken place as of yet, due to the fact that the employees feel that Dallas Dodge doesn't really care about their employees and that their complaints will fall on deaf ears. Unfotunately a body man got fired yesterday. I heard that it was because he was late. Here is the thing: the manager has made demands on these workers, saying that he wants all this work out before the end of the month, so that his numbers will look better.

The employees have worked not only late, way past closing and close to midnight, but have worked weekends too. ...7 days a week. This person had worked the whole weekend, until close to midnight and did the same Monday night, trying to get the work done, but when he came in late, he was fired. He explained that he'd worked until late the night before (due to the managers demands who said he wanted the work done) but the manager told him "that's not my problem".

Well, in actuality, it is. I mean, he is the one who demanded the work be done and demanded that the employees stay until it is done. So, when these employees are not getting any rest, their bodies all sore and stiff, how are they supposed to recouperate to be fit to come in to work the next day? Not to mention being mistreated on the job by a boss who is making employees hate their jobs, who used to love their jobs. and get this: This manager hired his close friend to be a body tech and now gives him most of the good paying and easy jobs.

There was a particular job that came in, a good job that everyone wanted and two guys bet that the manager would give it to his friend, even though it should have gone to someone else, and guess what?....they were right, he gave it to his buddy. He treats the others  with indifference and shows partiality toward his friend. He is rude, arrogant and does not seem to be doing a very good job at bringing the numbers up for the company, much less destroying workers morale (from what i hear). If you ask me, no one knows or cares about what goes on in that body shop.

There are employees who have smoked pot on the job, been drinking on the job and I'm guessing the owner has no clue. Take some advice, if you are going to run a business, maybe you should make sure you know what's going on in that business. and if you can't or don't have the time, then hire someone who does, who can report to you...not the body shop manager, because he's going to fill your head with crap. You as a business owner should make sure that your employees are treated properly. The new body shop manager is very rude, inconsiderate and wants to cause a seen to attract attention so that he can embarrass the person he is getting on to.

He is childish. I am sure OSHA wouldn't want to walk in and smell alcohol on someones breath after they've gotten back from lunch. For the past few years I've heard stories about this place. My dear friend and her husband bought a car from there and took it home, then found where a sheet of plastic was strapped accross the dashboard with string and that the car needed repairs. She took it in and the manager in the body shop said "how do we know that you didn't do this yourself when you got home?" Are you serious???

Who is going to purposely destroy their new used car? the car had many problems and was never corrected properly. they finally left dallas dodge and traded the car in at another car lot and competiter. If Dallas Dodge is like any other dealership, the body shop should be what is keeping them afloat when times are tough. Present b.s. manager is not going to be the one to keep this business from going under. He does not have the capabililties to bring that shop to its full potential and in the mean time, you are going to keep losing some of the hardest working men I've ever seen.

You should start listening to your customers and to your employees and maybe Dallas Dodge will live on and earn some respect. But, its not being respected right now. Dallas Dodge has a horrible reputation. The body shop employeees are not getting paid what they should, working enough hours to equal 2-3 full time jobs and not getting treated right by the manager.

You as the owner should do something about the problem. and if you don't care, then why don't you just shut the doors for good?. You just lost one of the hardest workers i've ever seen and its a shame because i know he gave you all he had and got nothing in return. What kind of person are you Mr. Dallas Dodge Owner? Show your whole staff that you care by going in and taking care of the problem in the body shop. Get a new manager, who will lift the spirits of these employees and get better production out of them. You aren't going to get their best if you allow them to be treated the worst. That goes for everyone everywhere.
