On November 10, 2015, I contacted Dalton Metzler of Tomball, Texas (a graduate of Texas Tech University) regarding a freelance writing project after he or his assigns posted a Craigslist ad entitled "I need a High Quality professional commercial script." After engaging in a conversation about a 30-45 second commercial he would shoot for his new outdoor lighting business, "Luminary Line," we agreed I would perform the work and given I lived in Houston, he would pay me in person upon completion of the script project.

Dalton Metzler is listed as CEO or a principal employee of HLMaids, Luminary Line, High Rise Detailing, Parasace, in addition to other small businesses.

His explicit written instructions included the following: "I need a 30-45 second commercial showing what our company does but simple and a luxurious feel. We have access to mansions, Bentleys, and other super cars to use the video, we specialize in exterior home lighting. So we want to capture the lights at night time. We can use more than one house. I need a full script made and what is going on in the video. Not much talking needs to be done.Just remember to use all of our luxuries that we have to an advantage as this service is mainly for the rich."

I was unable to begin to project until November 16th, 2015, in which he was aware after a conversation about limitations with my schedule due to a family emergency. He said that I should continue to do the work as assigned, and asked that I did not abandon him because "People have bailed before, so was just making sure."

I furnished Dalton Metzler with two hours worth of work on his script and submitted the copy to him. After a review of the work, Mr. Metzler expressed concern because I had used the name "The Perfect Light" in the script. In Dalton Metzler's Craigslist post, he included a link to The Perfect Light (http://theperfectlight.com), which I later learned was a competitor's website. He did not tell me his business was in fact "Luminary Line" until after completion of his project.

As is customary, I would have revised his script as part of his normal hour fees at no cost. However, when I asked him for feedback, Mr. Metzler did not respond. Eventually, he stopped returning my text messages altogether. I did not hear from Mr. Metzler until November 18th, 2015 after several attempts to contact him regarding the script.

When Dalton (who said his name was 'Austin' in his Craigslist ad and answered to such in his written communications with me) received a phone call from my secondary number, he answered and then hung up when I asked for him by name. A second call went straight to voicemail. Not surprisingly, Dalton returned a text message after I told him I would be sending him a invoice for hours worked as directed, in addition to providing him with his home address, which is listed as the address for multiple businesses Dalton owns.

As an entrepreneur myself, I was under the impression that Dalton Metzler would honor his committments. Unfortunately, after several opportunities to pay his invoice for work received as assigned, he has chosen to reneg on that committment.

I would like Dalton Metzler to pay for the work he received, which is customary for workers in the freelance trade.

Dalton Metzler is attempting to smear my credentials

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 30, 2016

While Dalton Metzler can complain all he wants about this Ripoff Report, the facts of the matter are as stated before. He received the script as prescribed by his very limited instruction. While he is the CEO of several apparently failed and underperforming companies, he does not take into account that I am a professional writer with more than 14 years worth of experience writing for The New York Times Co., Disney-ABC Television Group, Time Warner Publications, Radio One, Interactive One, and ASP Westward Media Group.

Nearly seven months since entering into our agreement to write the script, his Luminary Line website is still not complete, reading "Coming Soon" as of May 30, 2016. In fact, a cursory search of the company name "Luminary Line" reveals my complaints and nothing more.

His anger is misplaced. It should be redirected towards himself for scamming freelancers.

Mis-leading professionalism

AUTHOR: Dalton - ()

POSTED: Thursday, January 28, 2016

Not only was this report completely mis-leading and the indicated report needs to be cleared up.

I have asked this user for a video script complete to my specific guidelines, the script that was given to me was in a Chart Form type script that had NOTHING to do with my service, the script was boring and he was mis-leading about the amount of professionalism that he had stated. I had given him a couple video examples of how the script shoud be and what was actually delievered was FAR off from what was sent to me. The script was very lazy made, had no thought put into it what so ever, and he was just trying to make a quick dollar off of a video script. Not only did he lie in this report about the family issues, he started the script and was finished in an hour tops. The level of professionalism that he stated he was able to do was far from what he actually was.

Misleading, un-professional, nothing to do with my service or product, barley described, lazy thought went into it.
