David Ranes Invested in "Hollywood Producer" David Ranes Company New Myth Entertainment with promised return in a week. No money returned, no movies made...and I am bankrupt. New York, California, New Jersey, Florida Who knows?

In January of 2015, I was contacted by a person I knew who was looking to get his book turned into a movie.  I very much trusted the persons judgement.  He advised me there was this A-List producer, David Ranes, who was willing to write the screenplay, produce, and get the picture financed.  

David had been Exec Producer on The Butler I was told and I did not do my due diligence in doing further research. I was ill at the time and needed the cash$ and if I would have just searched David Ranes on the internet, I would not have made the investments.       David needed a few thousand dollars right away and my investment would be returned in 7 days with a 100% return, I gave him the monies through my "friend."

David then began to call me with urgency as he needed cash to purchase "project rights.  "The deal was always the same, for every $5k I invested, I would get"the 100% return plus "1 point" or 1% of gross profits for any movie New Myth produced.  Later, I was also offered 1% ownership of New Myth Entertainment.  I was going to be a player in Hollywood!

David mentioned a movie he was doing called "Faces" as well as "Brimstone," and "David; Rise of the Nephilim."  Turns out he did not have the rights to Faces or had written the screenplay as he had said he did.  The budgets for these movies are $125m, $35m; and $125m.  I would be a rich man.

Between January and September, David stayed in contact with me.  He had an investor who would invest $300million as soon as "the deal" went through.  This investor would be the Executive Producer.  It seems like every week from January to September, a deal was being worked through with lawyers, and then it would fall through.

One reason I was given for the failure of funding was that the banking system was not moving any large amounts of money.  It was always something.  As time went by, I got closer and closer to filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy.  Each month I healed from my illness and asked more questions regarding David's legitimacy as  a Hollywood player.  

He would only direct me to IMDB.  I began to contact people who have dealt with David and every one of them has told me he does not have the skills, know how, or the legititmacy to get a movie made in Hollywood.  He has many people that he has done the same thing with.

It's now March of 2016, my chapter 7 bankruptcy has been filed.  David quit returning calls once I questioned his legitimacy.  What David told me regarding all his financial issues was that he had partners where they had $millions of dollars in contracts they backed out on and he was left holding the bag.

No one can verify this.  Just loads of the same story with multiple people with the same of familiar stories.  Judgment against David which aren't paid.  Multiple bankruptcies I have been told, lost homes.

Oh yes.  As soon as the $300million comes in, everyone David owes will get paid in order to resurrect his name and become the hero of the movie.

Yes, shame on me for not doing my due diligence (I did trust who I thought was my friend), but shame on you if you don't heed the many warnings which this is just one of out there.
