Del Mar Flooring, LLC Adrian Gonzalez Nightmare Experience - BEWARE!! West Palm Beach FL

This is long but if you are thinking about using this company, you should read this!!

I hired Adrian Gonzalez/Delmar Flooring to do a complete bathroom remodel job in my home. Adrian misrepresented himself as being a licensed contractor and assured me that he and his crew could get this job done in a very short time frame due to my only having one bathroom in my home. The dates we agreed on were March 13, 2021 - March 18, 2021 and I do have this in writing from him. He insisted on a deposit of 50% of the complete job which included the demo of the bathroom, the garbage haul and removal, the installation of a custom vanity, LED lighting, plumbing to include a shower pan, shower valves and drainage, tile installation and tile that he would supply or would purchase on my behalf with the money from the deposit.

All the materials that Adrian said would be provided by him ended up being purchased by me even though he had explained that this was what the 50% deposit would be used for. On March 24, 2021, six days past when the job should have been completed, the end was nowhere in sight. The only things on the contract that appeared to be complete were the demo (not including the garbage removal) the plumbing and the tile installation.



Nothing else on the contract was completed, garbage was piled up in my backyard for over a week, the ceiling and walls in the bathroom were in shambles, the electric work was not done, the vanity and toilet were not installed and Adrian was hostile if questioned in any way.

Everyday, he would tell me he and the “full crew” would be there first thing the next morning but then nobody would show up or 1 guy would arrive around 2 pm, do 1 little thing and then leave. It was at this point that I felt it was time to move on from Adrian and hire a real contractor to get the job done. Once I started looking for a licensed contractor, it was brought to my attention (by 3 different licensed contractors) that the work done by Adrian’s plumber, who also happens to be his brother, was done incorrectly and would have to be torn out if I wanted to avoid continued problems.

I was informed that there was likely no shower pan installed despite a shower pan being listed on the contract. In addition, the plumber built the lip of the shower around an exposed 2x4 in the wall and left a large gap where water seeps into the floor and wall. The shower floor was never pitched correctly so there is an issue with draining. The water pools in certain spots and I have to physically push the water down towards the drain several times after every use of the shower. It has been very difficult to find a reputable contractor to complete the work on the shower because they are afraid of being held responsible for the shoddy work done by Delmar Flooring.

Overall, my experience with Adrian Gonzalez and Delmar Flooring was a nightmare. He basically stole over 4 grand from me and left me with a heap of garbage - literally! Adrian has a pattern of blaming his victims for his unprofessional behavior and I am sure he will attempt that with me but I do have the contract that he wrote, pictures of the incomplete bathroom and garbage filled backyard on the day that the project was terminated, and other proof that supports this negative review. My only goal in writing this review is to save another person from being victimized by a con man. I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews when I hired Adrian but I let him explain them away with lies and deception.
