Several years ago, gave down payment for half the cost of building my website, but due to a natural disaster in my area, had to delay sending materials to Delta Creations to begin building the website. Since the company was local to my region, I thought the web builder would not rip me off. I sent email asking if the delays in sending materials to him would cause any problems for me. He said it would not. A year later, I decided not to have the website built, but he would not refund my deposit even though he did not have a single bit of my info to begin work on the website and did not know what the contents on the site would be. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau. There were already two complaints about Delta Creations with the BBB. He said he already created some designs and that is why no refund was forthcoming. How could he create designs for me not knowing what my content and style of site would be? He said he would send designs to me but not the refund of my down payment. After years of back and forth with BBB and Delta Creations, I received no designs that he charged me for. I asked for face-to-face arbitration, but they could not longer do that since BBB said Delta stopped being a member of the Baton Rouge BBB. To this day, he uses the BBB reliability logo and emblem on his website, and he is still not a member of BBB with several complaints against Delta Creations on file with BBB. I should have known they could rip me off when he said he did not use contracts. Beware! This type of business makes you feel like an idiot and takes up a lot of time and effort, which is what Delta Creations web site building hopes will wear you down so they can keep the money for no services provided.
