Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield – Anthem, Inc. started by, - Eliminated pension plans for all employees. - Reducing health insurance coverage for all employees. Went from HMO, EPO, PPO, to HAS Silver and HAS Gold. Basically the cheapest plans, yet they charge their employees as if they were on a PPO Plan. - Changing to the HAS, HRA plans made such a big mess for everyone.

When you call for your benefits, you are treated as if you are in a third world country. They do not pay certain claims, they mess up claims, etc. - Reducing bonus plan payouts from 15% to 12.5%. - Reducing their 401(K) contributions and no longer match what we put into it. - One cannot sell their PTO days anymore. They are placed in a sick bank, where one gets to use them when they are sick instead of using their PTO days. When that was started, it was told to us that you can keep unlimited hours in there. Now they limited it to 200 hours. -

The latest thing, which was last week, the company eliminated working from home. So, please who were allowed to work from home and scheduled their life around that, now must figure out a way to come back into the office 5 days a week. Unless, you have a director or higher as a best friend, relative, etc. who will get you exempt. If you do not know anyone, then you must come in 5 days a week, we they expect your resignation! -

Work and family balance took a dive, company caring about employee, took a dive, our systems that we use internally are so old and outdated, that we might as well do everything by paper and pencil. If shareholders found out how we are running internally, our stock price would dive. How is anyone supposed to be loyal to a company that has no appreciation for their employees or families....It's a shame.

Oh Poor Baby

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

I am sorry but a lot of your "complaints" are really shallow.

Eliminated pension plans for all employees.
- Actually very few companies still offer any sort of "Pension" Plan. In fact it is these pension plans that are causing a lot of agencies, specifically government agencies a lot of issues as they now have to pay off these obligations.

Reducing health insurance coverage for all employees. Went from HMO, EPO, PPO, to HAS Silver and HAS Gold. Basically the cheapest plans, yet they charge their employees as if they were on a PPO Plan
- I figure you mean you went to an HSA plan. Yes those are "cheaper", but they do have some advantages. Is your employer funding any money into the HSA? As for the charge, your employer covers a percentage of the plan rate. The rate is determined by your age and location.  I can guarantee you that you would be paying signifcantly more if it was a PPO

You are working at a company that still gives you a 12.5% Bonus, they still provide a 401(K) and do some sort of match, they allow you to "Bank" up to 200 Hours(that's 5 weeks) of PTO time.

As for Working from home, perhaps the problem lies with all of the people that planned their life around that. Perhaps people were creating schedules that made it very inefficent. Perhaps some of the people who were "working" from home...weren't, and ruined it for the rest of you.

If shareholders found out how we are running internally, our stock price would dive.
- Actually shareholders care about the "bottom-line". If doing this increases the profit of the company I don't think any stock holder would complain, in fact most would probably try to obtain more stock.

How is anyone supposed to be loyal to a company that has no appreciation for their employees or families....It's a shame.
- Well if you don't think they are showing any appreciation, why are you trying to be loyal to them? Go find another employer who shows more loyalty. Oh and when you find the place that offers a full medical coverage with a Gold or Platinum PPO, a 401(K) match, gives out 15% Bonuses, allows you to sell back your PTO Days, allows you to work from home, and has the most updated software and equipment please post it here as I would bet that many people would love to work for them.

Good luck in your Job Search
