We were almost finished with our website on wix.com and wanted a professional to look it over, make some suggestions/revisions, make sure it was functional, and help us launch it correctly. We reached out to wix arena with a request for a “wix expert” by filling out their form.

Seconds after sending the request,  Eric Kline with Kline Design Co. called stating he had received a lead from wix.com, where he is registered as a freelance web designer.  We were surprised at how fast our request was answered and assumed it was a legitimate designer endorsed by wix. This would have been the time to do a thorough search of this young man where we would have found the previous complaint submitted here, as well as other similar sites. Unfortunately we trusted that he was endorsed by wix and he was given our information based on his work on and for wix customers, we didn’t bother to scour the internet for information that he may not be honest. BIG MISTAKE!

After speaking to Eric Kline on the phone and explaining the scope of the job we were sent, a contract outlining our needs and a turnaround time of 2 to 3 days. We needed to finish this website and Eric seemed eager, available, and was the first designer to call, so we accepted his proposal and sent him his payment through zelle…another BIG MISTAKE!

Three days went by and we hadn’t heard from Eric and we started sending messages with our concerns, only to get vague responses that gave false hope. Finally, after 8 days and still no progress on our website we turned to wix where we found that he is under a completely different name “ Designs by Logan”.  To clarify: He is signed up with wix as a web designer under the name Designs by Logan with a portfolio of his “work”, when you click on his website or social media accounts they are all dead links.

When wix sends him a lead he bypasses the wix platform by calling the said lead and sending a personal email with his real website http://www.klinedesignco.com/   He really has perfected the system of deceiving people … In regards to this young man, our impressions and complaints are consistent with others. He is very likable, well spoken, knowledgeable, and will tell you everything you hope to hear… as the other reviewer said “a very good crook”

Beware of Eric Kline- Kline Design co., Kline digital, Designs by Logan! AND never use Zelle to pay someone you don’t know!

Inaccurate Review

AUTHOR: Eric - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, March 23, 2019

It's a shame that these 2 ladies have to go to the extremes of writing an inaccurate report because they didnt get a refund after they got the services they paid for.

Sarah Booras & Mary Booras who goes by Mary Bouras on her linkedin and are based out of Denver Colorado had contacted from phone number 303.898.6626 me to assist them with there Website edits. After having an initial consultation, they agreed to work with me.

The services that were to be provided is "I will help you wrap up the current design and any other design changes needed."

Within 24 hours of receiving the signed agreement and payment, we began working together. They requested I hop on a skype Video call with them to walk through some changes and ideas to their website https://www.legaciesestatesales.com/  and business name legacies estate sales, which is which at the time was not live.

During our call, I was making live changes to their website which included fixing each page, making the site mobile friendly, SEO optimizing the website, answering all their technical questions, adding their blog, advising on marketing ideas, and adjusting the design to be better. The entire call lasted over an hour. At the end of the call, the task left was to adjust the "services" page to have a new layout. I had informed them for this task, since it is outside the scope of the project, it would take additional time to do and they agreed. This work was to be done outside of our call as it was going to take time to do. After our call ended, I began to work on the requested changes. Several days later, I sent them the following email:

"Hello, The "what to expect" page is now live with the new layout. Please check it out here: https://brsmary1.wixsite.com/legaciesestatesales/what-to-expect

The SEO is also complete. Please let me know if you have any questions. If everything looks good, I can connect the domain for you."

They responded back with the following:

"

Dear Eric,

This is to bring to your attention that as of 3/20/19, we have taken our website live and no longer need your services.

On 3/11/18 we accepted your proposal under the terms that your turn-around time on our project would be 2 to 3 days. Since you did not fulfill your promise date we would appreciate if you could arrange for a refund of our funds made to you via Zelle on 3/11/18 at the earliest.

Sincerely,

Mary and Sarah Booras- Legacies Estate Sales LLC."

I feel as though Mary Booras and Sarah Booras are simply trying to take advantage of the situation in the attempt to get a refund. I understand that having a small business, they probably feel the need to recoup any cost possible, even if that means scamming freelancers by getting everything completed to their website and then launching it with all my work added to it and then trying to attack me for a refund. They are extremely unprofessional I do not feel that their review is accurate or fair seeing as I provided everything they wanted and went above and beyond to do additional design work at no additional cost. As for my "many faces", Logan happens to be a designer as well and is no longer taking on new clients so he refers all his leads to me.

Also, your report is very inaccurate as you mentioned the following "Three days went by and we hadn’t heard from Eric and we started sending messages with our concerns, only to get vague responses that gave false hope. Finally, after 8 days and still no progress on our website"

The project was started on march 12,  during that day we did the skype meeting  which coverd 90% of the of the task that were to be done on the website and I had mentioned the other edits will take longer. You had texted me March 15th at 6am asking for an updated and I responded back 2 hours later the following "Hello, almost done with the new layout and will publish so you can view.". I was always in communication with you providing you updates when requested.
