Hospitality and Luxury Collection Hotel Horrific Experience 

My Family Vacation RUINED for me, my partner and 5-year-old and 2-year-old twins. 
We feel taken advantage off and ripped off. As Americans could say “WHAT A RIP OFF”

In fact I am leaving today! One entire day earlier and we are OK losing 400 Euros for this one night. We want out of here. 

*** JUST to check in after 6PM they charged 150 euros… who has heard of such a thing? The process of checking in was a mess and no one could even help with the bags. *** We will be asking for our money back. 

My family and I that travel all over the world with our staff were asked by some friends to visit this resort, without knowing much about it, we went online, reviewed their excellent marketing materials and booked a room for 9 nights/10 days for roughly $5,500 USD/5,000 EUR.

My recommendation is, DO NOT RENT or BUY HERE:

1. There seems to be a HUGE problem between The Luxury Collection Hotel by Marriott owner and the ownership of the residential, but that’s not my problem, if you use the hotel as an “anchor” to get buyers into the apartments then you need to offer hotel services. 

A. There are NO pools for renters of the apartments without paying, according to the sales office. The pools by the main beach are for hotel guest only, the MAXI’s is a private club and the ONLY kids pool is also private, and you must pay upwards of 50 USD/40 EUROS per person / per day! * THIS IS THE MOST UPSURD thing I have ever heard off. How can you not have a pool for kids in a place where the rocks on the beach are scorching?

B. The SPA looks lovely on the outside, but it was not operating in the midst of the most important season for them “summer” and the SPA at the hotel is a JOKE, it offers “Same old – Same old” services as any other 3-star hotel around the world. 

C. Hotel BUSINESS CENTER – the *****owner***** of the hotel who is an absolute rude and condescending person who uses this space for his office tried to kick me out by asking me in the middle of a video conference call, which he can clearly see I was on if I am a guest of the hotel. Well! My answer is yes, I booked at the resort, and they told me I could use this. The Business center is the size of 2 bathrooms, and no one was there, but him. 

I refused to leave, and he sends the front desk manager to ask me to leave. I was shocked how unbelievable the situation was. I latterly was by my self on a low volume conference call.

Sistiana, Italy ) behavior is an embarcement to the entire resort, and he should be ASHAMED of himself. 

I provided my phone number to Beata at the front desk and asked her to have him call me, so we can discuss what the problem was. I received no call, email and or WhatsApp even after she confirmed she sent him my number. 

I provided the number again to Davide in the sales and marketing office and ask him to please have the owner call me and have a coffee and he did not call. 

I attempted all the ways I could to meet him to clarify if he was just having a bad day. Whatever and I could to do to understand how can he treat a client like this. 

D. *****The hotel general manager no where to be found, has not even reached out to me. He should be fired. How can a hotel manager not even reach out to me or the head of sales and marketing and ask me to come down for some coffee and talk about the situation?

E. The GYM at the hotel is acceptable, better than most hotel gyms. 

F. The SPA wet areas are great, but there is no attendant and so you walk into this one huge unisex space and hope to enjoy. The whole set up for as expensive as it looks is service-less.

G. Hotel Bar – good design, OK service, but not a reason to visit. There is NO life in that bar. I had visited this bar almost every other night, and it was empty and boring. 

H. Breakfast at the hotel is not allowed even when paying for residents due to COVID, but that’s strange since the owner of the hotel and half of the staff and guest at the hotel don’t even wear the mask properly. 

*** COVID in PORTOPICCOLO *** In fact during our stay there was a COVID case in the PORTOPICCOLO sales and marketing office, and it has to close for 24 hours. This is what I was told… by a member of their staff in and about the resort. 

I. The nightlife is non – existent.

J. Shops are cute, but expensive as in any other hotel shopping area. Good selection of designer brands, but you can go one hour away to the designer outlet and get actually some of the same items at 40% off. The exact same items, I wonder if they bought them there and then are reselling them. 

K. The have a little café and stop and shop not owned by them, which are GREAT! Great products, service and friendliness. 

F. In a world where you can travel and invest in so many places around the world here is my breakdown 1-10.

Sales and Marketing office knowledge of relationship with Marriott (3)
Sales and Marketing office concierge services (1)
Main Beach (6) no sand just rocks, but I like that 
Pool Area 1 (4) service is AWFUL 
Pool Area Maxis (6) service is AWFUL 
Pool Are for kids (7) lots of kids it’s muddy around the area as they have not kept up with the landscaping + EXPENSIVE
Kids Club (I hear it’s a 10) we were un able to attend it was fully booked 
MAXI Restaurant food (8) 
Hotel Restaurant food (did not try) 
Pool 1 Restaurant (AWFUL FOOD and SERVICE) 
Overall Resort Service (2)
