I had my first official class at this gym on February 25, 2019. There were constant smaller issues that I dealt with. However, the first major incident that I felt was serious enough to bring to Walt's attention occurred on March 01,2019, only 4 days into my membership.

The alleged statement made by Walt's student was that "I look like a terrorist" because I appear to be of middle eastern/ arab descent. The incident was addressed with Walter Kimmel on March 04, 2019 via email. (SEE ATTACHED EMAIL #1 & #2)

Based on the email, I got the sense Walt was trying to explain the comment as a joke and minimize the issue of RACISM. I don't think anything was really done or changed.

As a result, the next major incident occurred within 14 days of last incident. One of Walt's more experienced kickboxing student, based on my account, threatened to "rip my f*cking arm off and beat me to death with it" for NO apparent reason.

I confronted Walt about this incident before Friday kickboxing class on March 22, 2019 at roughly 6:09 pm EST. (I was sick that week and Walt told me he was sick that prior week too.) I had to berate and verbally scold a close to 50-year-old man about his gym and his students.  According to my account, the response I got from Walt was similar to before." He is a young kid and was just joking. That is just how he acts."

During the alleged confrontation on March 22, 2019, I told Walt to cancel my membership, refund the unused portion, and let's go our separate ways. Walt would NOT do it. I got the feeling that he just did not have any money to refund so I didn't push it.

During the alleged confrontation, we eventually agreed that I would switch from Kickboxing to BJJ courses so I would not have to deal with all the idiot experienced kickboxing members.  Also, Walt stated he would make a stronger effort to improve the culture of the gym and the conduct of his students.

I took a week off from classes after the confrontation and started BJJ courses in April. Nothing got done in my opinion. It seemed like this (serious accusations of racism, a poor gym culture & threats of violence at his gym) was a joke to Walt

My class time got reduced from 4 classes down to 2 classes per week, but I still had to pay the same amount per month. Also, Walt split the matts so BJJ and Kickboxing was going on at the same time on Wednesday night. A clear sign to me that Walt just did not take any of the concerns seriously.

I stopped going to this gym and sent out a letter threatening legal action (SEE ATTACHED EMAIL #3)

Walt responded and denied having any knowledge of the accusations in the letter via email (SEE ATTACHED EMAIL #4)

Signing up for this was a total waste of my money and a complete nightmare. I still have not gotten my

UNUSED membership prepaid fees returned yet.

It looks like Walt is lying and trying to cover this up.

I am not sure this is even a legitimate business.

Maybe these guys will clean up their act, so this won't happen again. However, I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU AVOID THIS GYM!
