I'm writing to warn you of an insurance company that bought be the wrong policy that I couldn't use and didn't offer up a refund of their commission and wouldn't find me a new policy.

Their name is Finest Insurance Agency Inc.  800-466-2880 doing business out of La Mesa, CA 91944.  When calling and speaking with an agent the first thing that I told her was "I need a policy that covers Uber"  She informed me that it was a bit more difficult but she would be able to find me a policy that included Uber.  About a week later she gave me 2 quotes and of course I took the lower of the two quotes.  This is where everythings goes bad.  It turns out that the lower quote didn't include Uber coverage.  After finding out later when the policy was purchased, the agent told me that this policy didn't include Uber.  She also said that she had informed me of that and she claims that after that warning I still wanted the insurance.  This was a flat out lie on her part to save face.  First I would never want quotes for something I didn't need or couldn't use.  Second She never warned me that I was buying a policy without Uber coverage.

The reason why I'm posting my bad experience here is because the agent was upset with me because I told her that she was wrong.  She even told me that she wouldn't find a new policy for me and I should go elsewhere.  At this point I was very upset because I was feeling like they weren't looking out for my best interest.  It seemed to me that they were looking to scam money offering up cheaper policies just to get the commission.

I spoke with the manager there and asked for their commission to be refunded back to me because the job wasn't done.  The manager told me that "The refund isn't going to happen."  At that point I deiced to tell the world how finest insurance does business and how they don't care about the customer.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Please refund the gentleman the Broker Fees

AUTHOR: Juan Santos - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 29, 2016

If this gentleman requested a company that covers Uber, why in the world would you present a quote for company that does not cover uber? In the insurance field, agents have the biggest responsibility in making sure the client is presented with the correct options, it says so by the California Department of Insurance. By presenting an option that would not cover the needs of your client, you proof that you are more interested in yourself (more interested in collecting broker fees) than in helping your client, and while this might not be illegal, it is totally un ethical. Pleae remember : "Obey the Letter and Spirit of Insurance Law". Refund the Broker Fees and give a reprimand to the Agent, because being un ethical is very close to breaking the law.

#2 REBUTTAL Owner of company

This person's statements are not accurate

AUTHOR: Owner - (La Mesa)

POSTED: Thursday, October 01, 2015

We always advise our clients of what an insurance company will or will not accept.  In this case we presented the client with two different quotes, one with a company that allowed for Uber work and one with a company that did not.  The quote that allowed Uber work was almost $2,000 more than the one that didn't.  He chose to go with the lowest quote even though he was informed that the insurance company didn't want any Uber exposure. As far as his statement of just doing this for the commission, we want long-term clients since we earn commission on the renewals too.  We also would have made more commission on the higher premium which did include Uber so what sense does it make to give him the cheaper policy unless he chose it?  Customer service is very important and we tried very hard to accommodate this individual but he is the one that made the choice to go with the lower premium even though he was advised it would not allow him to work with Uber.  It wasn't until Uber requested a certificate from him that he realized he'd made a mistake in choosing the cheaper policy and blamed us for his mistake.  It appears that he just chose the cheaper quote thinking he could do Uber and no one would be the wiser.

The Insurance seller Is not telling the truth

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 08, 2015

I told them my situation and told them that Uber is why I'm getting the insurance.  They sold me insurance that didn't cover Uber then told me that they would not give the refund for their commission.  The sales representive simply forgot and dropped the ball.  Then to not get in trouble she told her boss a untruth.  When I spoke with the owner (Boss) he was blunt and rood and said that he should not offer ANY refund.  That alone is enough for the buyer to be aware.  Don't buy insurance from this business.  Mistake or Not they only look out for themselves.
